By now they were inside the ship, they could hear the Doctor's soft laughter while Ike told her stories about Gamama sending him on great quests of catching snails.
"Please put this bird in a cage for me." Then she paused. "And this message in my drawer."
"Yes, Mama."
Risa watched her mother walked away, the bird now on her right arm and the small container where the message was, in the other.
"Gamama!" The doctor's voice seeped out of the cabin to her as the doctor asked her about her leg, then Ike's excited voice while he gave account of the coins, then Gamama's laughter.
She could even see their shadows on the wooden wall as they moved around. Then she turned away.
"I think I've got some corns for you."
She went into the kitchen, put the bird in a cage then pour some coins its cage, something the bird seem to greatly appreciate.
