"Let's go, Mr. Vaughn."

Elise placed a little note on bed, before wearing the hood Roderick has placed for her on bed.

I'm sorry, Dietrich. I have to go.

Elise followed Roderick in silence as he led her to the balcony, her mind a whirlwind of emotions. The night sky shining above them and the fires ablaze in front of them.

The hood shielded her face from the growing chaos outside, but it did nothing to calm the storm inside her.

Every step felt heavier, like she was walking further into a trap—one she might never escape from. But what choice did she have?

The moment they stepped out, Roderick gestured toward the railing. A ladder in sight. Elise felt her pulse quicken, her senses on high alert. She couldn't afford to make a mistake now. Not when lives were at stake.

"You're making the right choice, Princess," Roderick said as they descended, his voice low but smooth. "Trust me, this will all be over soon."
