Safiya shook her head in disbelief. This whole situation felt unreal, and she couldn't understand why he wouldn't just give up.

"I want to know you. Will you let me?" he asked, his voice gentle and sincere.

Safiya stared at him, feeling a chill run down her spine as a sudden harsh wind blew against her back, causing her to wince. Though the wound was slowly healing, it still caused her pain. 

Malik frowned and stood up to help her, his concern evident in his eyes. "Here," he extended his hand, "take my hand. You need to rest." He would have carried her on his back, but he hesitated, unsure of how she would react.

Safiya nodded, already feeling tired from the medicine she had taken earlier. Its effects were starting to take hold.
