章 7: Kobolds
As Glass finished off the Goblin and collected the Magic Stone that it dropped and put it into his bag, he watched Bell from nearby.
Cling* Cling*
Bell who isn't used to fighting fought clumsily though he managed to not get injured by his opponent.
Cling*
The Goblin jumped in the air and swiped its right claw at Bell. Bell himself narrowly dodged its claw as he turned around and sliced the air with his dagger.
Shree*
That one slash wounded the Goblin as streaks of blood dripped from the wound on its back. Seeing the wound, Bell relaxed a bit before he ran out to it and sliced the air with his dagger.
The Goblin with its wounded body managed to dodge his attack and scratched him as his clothes were slightly torn. Bell's expression became serious again as he held his dagger with the blade pointing outward and kept his left hand touching his right hand that was holding the handle.
He ran forward with all his might at the direction of the Goblin and cut the air as he ran by. When his slash wounded the Goblin, he didn't stop there and stabbed backward with his dagger without looking back as Glass and himself heard the dying screams of the Goblin before it turned into purple smog and dropped a Magic Stone on the ground.
Huff! Huff!
Bell caught his breath as he put his dagger away and wiped his sweat before picking up the Magic Stone. "Good job" Glass said as he stood next to Bell.
"Glass - Kun, you're really strong. You beat the Goblin in the blink of an eye!" Bell said as he caught his breath. "Well, you didn't do bad yourself for your first fight, though I did notice a few areas where you could've done better" Glass replied.
"Yea, you're right" Bell agreed.
"Let's continue, I'll point out the shortcomings I saw from that fight just now" Glass said as the two of them explored deeper into the Dungeon. On the way, Glass explained in detail what he observed from Bell's fight. It was as though he was a master who has been in thousands of fights as Bell's eyes sparkled when he listened.
Suddenly, Glass stopped moving as he slowly took out his sword and pointed in a single direction. Bell took out his dagger as he nodded while Glass whispered, "There are a few over there, I'm not sure if they are Goblins or Kobolds but remember what I told you and be careful"
"Right" Bell whispered back as the two of them slowly approached the figures that Glass had sensed just now.
Kee! Kee!
Glass and Bell hid in the shadows and observed the enemies in front of them. Hiding in the shadows they could see a party of five Kobolds that resembled a dog with a human-like body that had hair growing around it.
Seeing this, Glass showed three fingers to Bell who nodded as the two of them stood up and charged at the Kobolds.
Sensing two tasty humans nearby, the five Kobolds turned to face them and laughed hysterically as if they were thinking, "Dinner came knocking on my door"
One Kobold stood in the middle while the four others stood on both sides protecting the middle one which is slightly bigger than the other four. Obviously he was the leader of the Kobolds and didn't think it needed to fight.
Glass sped up as he whisked by the Kobolds and cut two Kobolds along with the leader as he backed off away so that he could draw their attention.
As for Bell, he charged at the two remaining Kobolds with his dagger as the Kobolds that were holding chipped swords waved them at him.
Whoosh!
Bell did his best to jumped in between the slashes of the swords as he landed just beneath one of the Kobolds and uppercut it with his fist. As it held its chin, Bell directly stabbed its chest and pushed with all his strength.
The Kobold screamed out in pain as its entire body started convulsing before turning into purple smog and dropping a Magic Stone. Bell didn't rest at all, the remaining Kobold became wary of the human in front of it as it held its sword with both hands.
Bell took a quick step forward and ran at one of the spikes made of the ground as he jumped off of it as though he were flying in the air and held his dagger facing the Kobold.
Within just a few breaths of time, his body whisked pass the Kobold as he put his dagger away and still had his back against the Kobold.
Whoosh!
The Kobold didn't even know how it died before it turned into black smog and dropped a Magic Stone along with one of its nails. Picking up the monster drops, Bell waited where he was for Glass to finish up.
At the same time, Glass who had brought the three Kobolds away from Bell stopped running as he put his back against the Dungeon wall. The three Kobolds laughed as and looked at him as though they were looking at their prey.
Glass smiled as he ran forward with his sword in his right hand as he remembered the movements that he had seen from Shea just a few days back. His body moved like the wind being unstoppable as he closed in on two of the Kobolds in an instant and waved his sword as though he were doing gymnastic creating a wave-like pattern in the shape of a sphere around him.
Slosh! Slosh!
The the Kobolds were cut into multiple pieces before turning into black smog as Glass stared at the leader of the Kobolds in front of him. The Kobold took a step back as it saw how easily the human before it had dealt with its subordinates who even it cannot defeat them both so easily just as Glass had done.
Even though it knew it had no chance at beating Glass, its pride didn't allow it to escape as it took out its sword and buckler and charged at the human in front of it.
