概要
After the college entrance examination, Qian Quan was preparing to confess his love to his goddess, but he could only watch as she was taken away by a rich second generation classmate.
At this moment, he awakened the "Like Father Like Son" system.
[Ding, the system detected that your father won a bonus of 3,000 yuan, rewarding you with 30,000 yuan!]
[Ding, the system detected that your father is practicing Wing Chun, rewarding you with the Grandmaster-level Wing Chun technique!]
[Ding, the system detected that your father made the game-winning shot in the school basketball game, rewarding you with a professional-level basketball skill!]
"What the heck?"
"Dad, please try harder! It's better to improve yourself than to improve your son!"

The story starts out fine the main character gets his girl taken then he gets the system. After that however the story takes a real disappointing turn. It focuses more on the mc and his friend with little use of the system, rather than mc and his dad. This is a lot of untapped potential, instead of boring filler we could get more system and face slapping with his new abilities. Overall not too impressive and could be a lot better
Completed in raws, only 190 chapters. Good start, but quickly becomes boring, for me atleast.. Dropped in the 80ish chapters..
First time i’ve given a novel all 5s in trial read. The only way the author could possibly screw this up is if he makes it a harem or doesn’t have MC get together with the main girl. An easygoing comedy slice of life.
Good book. Great characters. I have no problem with the book itself, but I have with the translation. Sadly, the payable chapter's quality is lower than the free chapters. There are a lot of errors in grammar and translation in the payable chapters. The characters just feel more "in character" in the free chapters while they feel AI generated and machine translated in the payable chapters. I know you are working hard, but we are literally paying for the translation, so please make it better. Also, it's just sad that such an amazing slice-of-life book feels tiring to read because it feels lifeless. Also, I don't understand the update time, although I am happy that there are multiple chapters per day, I'm just wondering why they are hours apart.
I found the MTL thanks to some helpful folks and completed it. It's just 179 chapters total. The ending felt a little rushed, but I guess it's because he already accomplished everything he needed to. The little twist at the end was hilarious as well. Overall, it's a very decent book. He does game talents in a few things, but it's only related to what his father does, and fortunately, the father doesn't do too much to make it overly ridiculous. People just think he's extremely talented and well brought up and trained since he credits all his achievements to his father. It's good read to pass time. The MC isn't overbearing or arrogant. He's really Buddhist, and the FL is also the same. A MAJOR PLUS - I didn't once see the statement "neither _____ or overbearing." Bonus points if you could fill in the blanks.
Truly a diamond in the rough. One would see the system, failed love confession + humiliation, and the beautiful tomboy childhood friend and immediately think this novel is another run-of-the-mill wish fulfillment fantasies. I can gladly tell you that this is not the case. I won’t write an essay, but here: All the characters are fleshed out (or in the process of it), even the ones you might initially hate (refer to Ch 21-22). The world building isn’t focused on, but we can assume that the story takes place in modern china (hence, urban slice-of-life). The system isn’t too overt. While it affects the MC and his social interactions significantly, the MC isn’t constantly trying to grow stronger or obsessing over it. He’s simply living his life and allowing the system to improve it. So many cliches are present but twisted to attain some form of fresh, light-hearted comedy or a deep rumination of life (social class, manners, etc.) There’s more to say, but tl;dr, this is a well-written/translated novel with a lot of potential.
This is a true slice of life type of story. Not too excessive in face slapping it is instead more about the MC’s daily life as the genre implies. There’s also a soft romance aspect? The cliché childhood friends thing might become more and more important as the story goes on. Anyway, this story hits the right beats. It’s funny sometimes and it can melancholic when it wants to. The translator is also great. Some stories are straight up MTL and this one is not one of them. Check it out.
The writing quality feels really nice, you can just keep on reading without feeling something happened for no reason and such.story is kinda dud since what can happen? MC gets skills and uses them, face slapping might happen which i honestly don't find enjoyable in stories.Characters are likable, mc and family dialogues feel good, mc and the other girl are just people that have just done the university entrance exam and chilling after the summer. It's easy for author to write realistic characters with this since everybody has done the exam, parents and friends, which you talk to all the time.decent kind of a fun story first 20 chapters, probably will proceed with face slapping all the time
Its a nice twist to the system genre, which actually benefits story building and character building. Characters and supporting case don't become 1 dimensional, they have life to them, and help drive the story forward. This is obviously more Slice of Life, which for me is a selling point with so much junk face slapping novels that repeat the same plot 1000x times, this story gives some feel good plot beats and the story progresses. Grammar needs some better edits, not hard to auto spell check some of these things.
does it mean the book won't be progressing anymore past chapter 40?That would be so disappointing.Hope updates will be available soon
[Ding! The system detects your father is a smoker. You are rewarded with lung cancer!] Jokes aside, peak level novel. Way better than the common face slapping nonsense out there.
