Sebastian spent the entire evening reading 'Dragon Ball Z'.
As much as he wanted to spend his time in leisure before getting sent to this dangerous universe, he most definitely needed to do his homework.
For the first half of the series, he simply skimmed through. After all, the mission was to aid in getting rid of Frieza, people like Yamcha and Tien don't matter at all.
'So, we'll be up against a world destroyer?' Sebastian sighed, already dreading the fight ahead.
Unfortunately for him, he wasn't able to read further than Frieza returning with a mechanical body. Although that was enough evidence to clean up after Goku and make sure that Frieza is dead when Namek blows up.
[Times Up!]
The second Sebastian saw the notification, the scenery around him changed. He was no longer sitting in his comfy lounge room, instead he was sitting on a massive rock on a planet with cyan-colored grass and green water.
Only a few meters away stood Shego, Konan, Raven and Widowmaker.
"So, now we're stranded on an alien planet with planet-destroyers running around everywhere." Shego spoke first. "Wish we had more than an hour to learn about it."
Nobody entertained her with an answer.
"What do we do now?" Sebastian asked, using his notepad.
"I can scout." Raven offered.
"Please do." Konan nodded. "In the meantime, I suggest that we simply wait." After getting Konan's approval, Raven floated high up and got into a mediative pose, with her eyes closed and dark energies circling around her hands.
"Is waiting really a good idea?" Sebastian questioned. Generally, inaction in a hazard zone was not a good idea.
"We shouldn't be running around until we know where our enemies are." Konan explained. "Also, we can test this system."
"Test the system?" Sebastian asked.
"This world is obviously leagues above us in terms of power. If we can notice any ways the system makes it easier for us, we can be more reckless in taking higher difficulty mission in the future." Konan spoke.
"Makes sense." Sebastian replied. "So, we're observing the system to see how we can potentially use it in the future?"
"Yes." Konan confirmed
"Of course, this only matters if we can observe a pattern." Widowmaker added.
"Was I not included in a meeting or something?" Sebastian questioned.
"No, you're just taking everything for granted." Widowmaker replied as if she was speaking to an idiot.
Shego shook her head, as if she had caught on as well.
At the same moment, Raven descended from her 'meditation'.
"Bad news." Raven spoke. "A group of Frieza's soldiers are passing by a couple of kilometers from here."
"They aren't coming here? How is that bad news?" Shego asked.
"Because they're heading for a village of Namekians."
-----------
The Namekians always knew this day would come.
Every single one of them knew they were being invaded. Every single one of them was aware that they were powerless to stop it.
It was even worse for this small village of Namekians that didn't even hold any fighters. The entire village was a fishing retreat where Namekians would come out for the holidays, spending time with their families by using their long, stretchy arms to catch fish.
Unfortunately, all Namekians in this village knew that this would be their end.
---------------
"Let's go!" Raven was ready to fly in and assist the helpless Namekians. After seeing many of them put down like stray dogs.
"There's no need to." Widowmaker objected.
"What do you mean there's no need to?" Raven questioned in disbelief.
"Our mission objective has nothing to do with getting rid of Frieza's soldiers, nor saving any Namekians." Widowmaker explained. "It's a waste of time and energy to save them. We have much bigger issues."
"I agree." Konan supported Widowmaker's apathetic suggestion. In such a dangerous environment, it was every man and woman for themselves. She had no doubt they'd be able to get rid of the soldiers, but the potential risks behind such an action could get them killed. "It's too dangerous to be heroes."
"Excuse me?" Raven spoke with a disgusted expression on her face.
Seeing that Shego and Sebastian weren't speaking up, Raven knew that she was the only one in the group that had any degree of humanity.
"Hahahaha..." Raven laughed to herself in disappointment for a moment before her eyes went dead. "...whatever."
As soon as she finished speaking, a powerful black aura engulfed Raven's body, inverting the colors around her.
Raven flew up in the air, almost looking like a black hole generating in the middle of the green sky of Namek.
"Azarath." The black aura around her body spiked, instilling all sentient beings nearby with primal fear.
"Metrion." The black aura formed many large shadow tendrils that extended all the way to the Namekian village, almost a kilometer away.
"Zinthos." The black tendrils wrapped around all of Frieza's soldiers, cracking the perfect armor and contracting around their bodies, not breaking a single bone, but incapacitating every single one of them.
The black aura around Raven's body softened and retracted once again back into her. The black tendrils remained trapped around the bodies of Frieza's soldiers, despite the weakening of Raven's aura.
She descended from the skies and landed a few meters in front of the Dimensional Travelling Group.
"Hmph." She looked back over her shoulder and scoffed at the group, turning forward once again to approach the village,
Despite vaguely knowing Raven from the DC universe, Sebastian wasn't aware of her full strength.
However, rather than being stunned by her overwhelming display of strength, another thought circled his head.
'That was hot.'
With no words exchanged between the group, they collectively decided to simply follow Raven. Not only did she just display herself to be the most powerful person in the group, but she also just made the decision to potentially broadcast their location to the planet-destroying galactic tyrant.
------
'Damnit.' Raven thought to herself.
Contrary to the boastful display of strength she just pulled off, Raven wasn't too proud of herself. After all, she shared the information about this fictional world precisely because she understood that this mission would be too dangerous to make mistakes.
And what did she just do?
She made a mistake, a big one.
'Why the hell do they have to be so merciless?' Raven asked herself. In Sebastian's world, she understood that it wasn't her place to decide to kill or not, as she may kill him by letting his enemies live. However, this mission had no one to force her to stand down, she had no reason not to save the people on this planet, and that's where this poor decision came from.
And now there was a chance that Frieza had sensed her energy or was notified of his goons being taken down with some sort of technology that may exist but was never mentioned.
'Whatever, it's just a space lizard. I can win.' Raven knew her thoughts were delusional, but it was the only thought that didn't lead to despair, and as such, she chose to ignore the dangers that may or may not be racing towards her right now.
