I didn't dare to let up from there. The Cat Priestess' miscalculation was that she'd given this body only a bow to face me, while I also had a sword. As a Sacred Beast, it was already an achievement more tremendous than any I'd yet attained to even keep up with her attacks, and now, the fact that I was armed and she wasn't was the only reason I could win.

As it was, she still blocked some of my blows physically with her bow, but doing so was unwieldy—not even an immortal was likely to do something as dumb as train with using a bow as a defensive parrier.

"What the hell is going on," she snarled, her body covered in cuts, though most of them were rather superficial, and they were only just starting to add up to actually weakening her, "at least some of you should be dead by now. Why aren't the others coming to help me against you?!"
