章 96: Chapter 14
Master suddenly grinning makes me nervous because that would mean he is thinking about something that will truly challenge someone. I feel sorry for Ikon in advance now; this man right here is going to mess with him for real. I just shook my head and sigh, this person is too overprotective that we will suffer in the end. I can foresee now what will be the outcome when it comes to Miracle's suitors.
"How are you?" River asks the moment we went inside her house.
"We are fine; I just need a follow-up check-up," Master replied.
"I see. I am sorry; I didn't know that he is back." River apologized.
"It's fine, you don't have to worry in the meantime. I told him not to get near you without my permission." Master said.
"Are you sure?" River asks with a worried look.
He smiled at her and tap her shoulder. "I am. By the way, he told us the reason why he leave you and Lily. Why didn't you tell me?"
River looks at me awkwardly. "Well… I was about to tell you the reason but the moment you heard that he left me, you got mad and the rest is history." She replied then awkwardly laughs.
Master sighs. "Uh… I see." He replied then looked at me scratching his neck using his finger. "By the way, do you plan on meeting your family?" he suddenly asks.
"Why are you asking?" River asks unease.
"Ikon told us about it and he said that he is doing something on his side," Master replied.
"Well, my family reached out for me but I refuse to come with them after that, they never come back." She replied.
"Ikon told us that your father passes away," Master said.
"I know, his secretary came that moment. I didn't attend his funeral because Lily is sick at that moment." River said sadly.
"I see but do you want to reunite with your relatives?" Master said as he grins at River. There he is again… that grin is creeping me out.
"I would like to but my father's secretary didn't come back after that. all he left was the papers my father wants to give." She replied.
Master looks at me and winks at me. "You know what to do, right?" he said to me, kissed me on the forehead, and went inside where we can hear the kids playing.
I look at River and smile at her. "Well, I know someone who has the same name as your family. We just ask you first before I contact her."
"Who is that person?" River asks with full of curiosity all over her face.
"It's my ex-boyfriend's mother, Mrs. Sheen Decorum-Wilton." The moment I told her the name she look so surprised and before I ask her why she hugs me so tight saying how grateful she found a sister in me.
"Thank you, Rackie! I talked to Auntie Sheen over the phone before my father's funeral. She said she would like to meet me but I don't know how."
I caress her back as I smile. "You don't have to thank me, Master's friends are my friends," I said. "Since I confirm that you are related to them, surely… Master won't stop grinning."
"I saw that grin, it creeps me out whenever I see how he grins like that." River said as she laughs.
"Same here," I replied then we laughed together. "I will have to call one of Aunt Sheen's sons, Red or Art so I can talk to her about you."
"Rackie, I am just concerned. Is it alright for you to be stressed with this matter?" River looks so worried.
"She'll be fine as long as she's enjoying and she's not too involved," Master said as he feeds Grandeur and groove to put Miracle to sleep. The moment he became a father, he learn how to multitask and I think that side of him is cute. "Let's eat dinner after I put the twins to sleep."
After dinner, we all talk about River's case. Master can't help but smile. "What are you smiling for?" I asked.
"Red and Art are also overprotective like me, so River will have brothers that will protect her from Ikon and his family. When you were missing, we've known each other's family, they told us that they have one and only girl cousin which means, River has seven cousins who are all boys on their mother's side alone." River and I look at each other then look at him again with a surprised looks on our faces. "Should I call Red about this already? I mean so he can fetch you and Lily tomorrow before Rackie and I leave."
River nods and hugs us both. "Thank you for the help." She said. "I am grateful that you are my friends."
The next morning, I saw Master preparing the things we have to bring. "Oh, I didn't wake you up, right?" he asks. I shook my head. "I prepared everything already so that we will just need to leave. Red and Art are here already, they are talking with River."
I see… that is why he is here preparing so they could have time to talk. I smiled at him and hugged him tightly. "You are doing great, Terric." He tapped my arms around him and hugged me back. I think I won't regret the moment I agree to marry him. He never fails to surprise me, make me smile with all the unexpected things he does, and for loving us unconditionally. I always overthink that I might have decided too fast for this but he always proves me wrong about it.
Our wedding day is near; I didn't do anything at all. They said that the bride is the most haggard and much busier than the groom however in our case, Master was the one who prepared every single detail. I told him that I can't have a bride's maid because if it'll be on his side then I don't think it was a good thing so we decided to make it, a bride's men and groom's maid since most of my friends are men while most of his cousins are women. As for the motif of our wedding, we decided to have royal blue and grey since it's our favorite colors. Lily is one of the flower girls; the ring bearer is Master's nephew, Murky. Hue and Paint were the wedding planners so, they can't participate in the wedding itself.
The church wedding will be where my parents suggested, and the reception will be held at the place where Master suggested. Windy Casper created my gown; it is a dress that flows freely like how I described it, and it's not too long like how other bride wants. I made sure that I can walk freely without stepping on the gown, the length is two inches above the ankle, Windy also made my wedding shoes, it didn't request it but Flood told her to make one for me. I can't thank enough the people around me for showering us with the support and love they give.
"You need to try the gown." My mother said excitedly when Windy personally sent it to the house.
Master and his parents were there because Windy told him she'll send his wedding suit to our house. "Oh, no… you shouldn't. You only have to wear your gown on the day of your wedding." Mrs. Meander said.
Oh, no… my family doesn't believe in those things, I look at Master. "I think you should try it out so that if there's a problem, Windy can fix it besides, our wedding is near and I want to see it."
"No, you have to wait for your wedding to see her wearing her wedding dress." Mrs. Meander apposed.
"Mom, it's fine. The wedding will go through no matter what happens." Master said then looked at me and winked. "But I guess, I'll wait for the day of our wedding to see you wearing it."
Windy helps me wear the dress. "It fits perfectly." She commented. I smile timidly. "What's wrong? Don't you like it?" she asks.
I shook my head. "It's not like that," I replied. "I just can't help but think what if this marriage won't work."
"I get it, I know what you feel and it's going to be alright," Windy said. "Those negative emotions will keep on coming but better days will come eventually. What you have to think about right now is the present and let the future comes when it comes." She said. "Well, that was my brother's line whenever I kept on thinking about what was ahead of me."
Since the wedding is near, I can't help but feel anxious about what the future will bring and I thought that being busy will help me not overthink but I guess, I'm wrong… I didn't even imagine that I am just making things worse.
