James now fully realised that he had to attack. When he pulled out the Clarent, the holy sword that had been back in his inventory, and gripped it tightly, it was covered from head to toe with his magic. 

With that, the spell suddenly began to burn with the help of the 8 Sacred Fires wrapped around his arm, and the sword began to burn with one of the two flames of hell, which James knew to be the hottest:

"Azure flame," James thought.

Each coloured flame had a different purpose and the two flames, blue and black, represented two different fires of hell.

Blue might be weaker than black, but it was a hundred times better at transmitting magic, which was why James had deliberately chosen to use it instead of black, the most dangerous flame in creation.
