Cheol looked at the ringing phone in my palm and back to my face. I knew all the color drained from my face because the fear that took so long to wash away was back.

He snatched the phone without a word and hit the answer button and held it up to his ear only to have to pull it away again because of the loud and screeching voice of a woman from the other line.

“You better be dead in a goddamn ditch somewhere, bitch!” Aunt Lucy snapped. “I know very well that you’re staying at Choi’s! You need to get back here as soon as possible or I will make you look ten times worse than when you left your damn room!” I winced as she yelled on the phone. “What?
