Being forced to leave the camp in California, to come home to Reia while not knowing if that woman was among the missing prisoners, was one of the hardest things that I had ever lived through. I needed to know. I had to find out if this was what I had been feeling, the danger that I had been expecting all this time. And I wouldn't rest easy until I knew for a fact.

Then there was the simple fact that I had to tell Reia what was happening. There was no way that I could leave her in the dark while we waited until my parents got back. It felt like lying to her. Like I was hiding things and being deceitful. And there was no way in hell that I was willing to deceive her ever. Not now, and not in the future either.
