I remembered talking with Westin until I fell asleep. The last thing that I had done before drifting off was climb into his lap and let him hold me in his arms. He had pressed himself into the corner of the sectional and let it cradle us as we slept together. It was perfect, and I didn't want anything about that moment to have changed.

Everything was better. The moment that I had smelled him, things started to change, and now that we were here, in each other's arms, there was nothing in this world that would make me happier than the man I was mated to. It was all just so perfect. And I thought that it would stay that way.

Then things went downhill really, really fast.
