章 158: Chapter 158 – The Sports Festival ends

After the relay race concluded, the sports festival reached its closing ceremony. Advanced Nurturing High School had the advantage of high efficiency; there were no overly elaborate closing speeches.

Instead, the sports field's large screen directly displayed the results of the day's sports festival and each class's scores. As expected, because Yukio won the relay race, his class's score surpassed the third-year Class A, taking first place.

The class points increased by 300, with the third-year Class A having to settle for second place. The class at the bottom was, as expected, the second-year Class A with Nagumo, suffering a deduction of 300 class points.

Despite this, the large screen showed that even with the heavy deduction, the second-year Class A still had over 1,800 class points, leading the other second-year classes.

This indicated that the original second-year Class A had at least 2,000 class points or more.

Sakayanagi's class only got eighth place, as Sakayanagi couldn't participate due to her weak constitution, and the overall athletic capability was not outstanding.

Ichinose's class did much better, achieving fifth place. Horikita's class fell to sixth place, originally having a chance to get into the top four, but with Sudo's expulsion and absence in the afternoon, their ranking dropped.

It turned out that the main reason the first-year classes achieved such good results was due to different point weightings.

Sakagami didn't tell them about this weighting on purpose, to encourage the first-year classes to train seriously and aim for better rankings.

The student council had changed the sports festival's red-and-white group division, making each class compete individually. This gave upperclassmen a clear advantage, which was unfair to the first-year students.

While there were some sports prodigies among the first-year students, for most, a year's difference in growth during puberty could create noticeable differences in physical fitness.

Some people might be 150 cm tall in their first year, but by their third year, they might be 180 cm. Having them compete together would be inherently unfair.

So the school had point adjustments for the first-year classes. For instance, if a first-year student got first place, they might earn 50 points, while an upperclassman would get around 30 points for the same achievement.

It was this point system that allowed the first-year classes to achieve such good results in this sports festival.

When students calculated the results, they understood that the class rankings hadn't changed much.

[A Class, Yukio's class, 1,590 points;

B Class, Sakayanagi's class, 980 points;

C Class, Ichinose's class, 790 points;

D Class, Horikita's class, 70 points.]

When these results were released, many upperclassmen started to view Yukio with newfound respect. This guy wasn't ordinary—the second semester was only halfway through, and his class points were almost catching up with Nagumo's second-year Class A. By the end, no one could predict what kind of monstrous class they'd become.

Most of the first-year students felt a sense of helplessness, as the gap between Yukio's class and theirs seemed to be widening, feeling unsure if they could ever catch up.

However, Ichinose's class was quite pleased. At least this sports festival reduced their gap with Sakayanagi's class. With a little more effort in the next unannounced test or other class point activities, they might even surpass them.

Yukio's class was just thrilled, completely letting loose: "Yeah! We got first place! A month of hard training paid off!"

"Not easy at all! After this month of training, I lost three pounds! I'm going to eat all of it back!"

"Victory party! Victory party!"

Yukio, of course, joined in the class's celebration, picking a place and agreeing to meet back at the dorms after a shower to wash off the sweat, then head to the victory party to celebrate.

This was understandable; others might not know, but Yukio was a bit uncomfortable. During the sports festival, the high energy levels seemed fine, but once it ended, he felt uneasy, like he could rub salt off his skin, so he set the meeting time to give everyone a chance to freshen up.

Despite the plan, because of his promise to Sakayanagi, Yukio, after showering and changing into a different uniform, decided to go to the special teaching building to see what Sakayanagi had in mind.

On his way to the special teaching building, Yukio contacted a cafeteria insider, asking them to double-check and ensure no traces were left behind.

Nagumo's big embarrassment during the bread competition was primarily because all the bread was provided by the cafeteria, even tied to the ropes by the cafeteria staff.

Yukio, who was always careful about this, naturally could manipulate a few cafeteria workers to help with things, leading to Nagumo's downfall and eventual fainting.

After taking care of the follow-up, Yukio put away his phone and casually made his way to the special teaching building. From a second-floor window, Sakayanagi was lightly waving at him, indicating for him to come up.

After Yukio went up to the second floor, he saw Sakayanagi standing in the hallway, one hand holding a cane, the other delicately lifting the hem of her skirt as she made a graceful aristocratic bow: "Should I call you Yoritaka-kun?"

"Or just Yukio-kun?"

"Whatever you like." While it seemed like just a question about how to address him, it actually implied that Sakayanagi had been investigating his identity. (T/N: He uses a different last name at school, which is never mentioned, but his original last name is Yoritaka.)

Yukio's eyes slightly narrowed, his face showing keen interest: "I didn't expect the director would break the rules for his daughter."

To find out about his identity, there was no way Sakayanagi Arisu could investigate from within the campus—that would be too absurd.

The only possibility was that Sakayanagi contacted her father, the director of Advanced Nurturing High School, which allowed her to uncover some information.

However, Yukio wasn't worried at all—the director's level likely wouldn't reveal much.

"Yukio-kun rolls off the tongue better." Sakayanagi smiled sweetly, showing no fear or hesitation in response to Yukio's gaze.

She even had the composure to address the naming issue first, then turn back to the investigation: "And my father and I didn't break any school rules."

"The school clearly states that contacting the outside world is forbidden, but my father works on campus, which is within the 'school' boundary. So whether I contact my father or he contacts me, it's within the allowable range."

"So even if my father hears interesting stories outside and then tells me about them when he returns to campus, it can't be considered a violation, right, Yukio-kun~"

"Hah, sharp-tongued." Yukio wasn't fooled by Sakayanagi's clever wordplay: "No wonder everyone says you're top of your class."

"Can't say about other things, but when you write essays, a piece titled 'My Director Father' could easily get you full marks from the grading teacher, right?"

Thinking about how much effort he had to put into contacting the outside world, with threats and complex maneuvers to get an off-campus phone, Sakayanagi? All she had to do was ask her father—it was almost too easy.

Sakayanagi seemed to ignore the sarcastic undertone, or maybe she pretended not to hear it: "That's an interesting suggestion. Maybe I'll try writing it that way next time."
