Chapter - 30
Back in my room, I collapsed onto the bed, savoring the sense of victory that still buzzed under my skin. As my head hit the pillow, the familiar glow of the quest screen flickered into my vision, and I focused on the words that floated before me.

I read through it twice, letting the words sink in. The increase in stats brought a slow grin to my face as I saw my revised stats.

A thrill shot through me as I reread the notification. Glacier's Call. I'd gotten lucky with that one. It was a powerful skill—just picturing the effect brought a grin to my face. The Iridium cost was a bit high, but that just meant I'd have to practice until I could wield it better and gradually bring that cost down.
Still, the stat boost was the real trophy here. Sure, it was smaller than my previous quest's reward, but reaching numbers like these was an accomplishment by itself. Each step up in stats became tougher the higher they climbed. Other than my pitiful Iridium stat, the rest were nearly matching Cassia's level, one of the top students of our class.
Boundless Ascension and these quests had helped me power-up faster than I'd ever thought possible, and I knew I couldn't afford to lose this momentum.
I let the stats and skill settle into my mind, my muscles finally starting to relax. Even as sore and worn out as I felt, I couldn't keep the content smile off my face. Before I knew it, my eyes grew heavy as I drifted off into a deep, dreamless sleep.

With no classes on the agenda for the day and no urgent call to the training grounds, I decided to take it easy and savor a rare, full day of rest. After a hearty lunch in the cafeteria—filled with far more dishes than any student really needed—I headed out to the open field next to the dorms. Part of me hoped I'd find Eileithyia there, like I normally did. As I crossed the field, I spotted her familiar figure sitting quietly on our bench.
I walked over, giving a casual greeting as I sank onto the seat beside her. With a content sigh, I stretched my arms along the backrest, leaning back to enjoy the peace of the afternoon. The sun was warm, and the breeze just right, making the whole scene feel timeless.
Eileithyia turned to me, her deep gaze catching mine. Her eyes were serious, almost as if they could see right through me. Then, without a hint of hesitation, she spoke. "Lift your shirt," she said.
I blinked, surprised. "Umm… mind telling me why?" I asked, feeling a bit thrown off by the sudden demand.
"Because you're injured. I can feel it." Before I could react, her hands moved toward the hem of my shirt, lifting it to reveal the bruises still darkening the right side of my chest.
"Oh, those," I said, shrugging it off. "We had a trial assessment yesterday. I just got a little banged up at the end. Don't worry—it doesn't hurt." I tried to sound reassuring, but the sharp look in her eyes told me she wasn't buying it.
She let out a sigh, her brow knitting as she stared at the bruises. "Why didn't you go to the healing ward?" she asked, her tone sharp. This was coming from a woman who always spoke as soft as possible, so imagine my surprise.
"Honestly? I was just too worn out to deal with it," I admitted, scratching the back of my neck. "I made it back to my room and crashed. Felt fine after some sleep. Really, I'm good now."
Eileithyia's expression grew darker, and her silence was loaded. Suddenly, she stood up, grabbing my hand firmly. Before I knew what was happening, she pulled me to my feet and started striding off, tugging me along like she had no patience for any argument.
"Come with me," she said, her tone brooking no refusal.
I had little choice but to follow her. We crossed the field, moved through a tree-lined path, and then came to a high stone wall that looked like it had been here for centuries. Embedded in the wall was a small wooden door, something I might have overlooked if she hadn't stopped directly in front of it. She opened the door and stepped through, pulling me in after her.
What lay on the other side took me by surprise. Nestled within the wall was a modest, one-story house with elegant, sloping eaves, designed in a style that radiated simplicity. Around it, gardens stretched as far as I could see, filled with vibrant flowers and lush greenery. The colors were almost unreal, flowers in shades I'd rarely seen before, with carefully tended paths winding through the rows of blooms. It was like stepping into a hidden sanctuary.
Eileithyia led me inside the house, past rooms filled with warm, polished wood, until we reached a bedroom bathed in soft light. She released my hand and turned to face me, her expression as serious as before. "This is my residence," she said, her voice softer but no less insistent.
I took a look around, my gaze shifting to the wide windows that overlooked the gardens. Everything about the place seemed to suit her perfectly, from the open, airy rooms to the vibrant blooms outside. It was peaceful, a place in harmony with itself—much like Eileithyia, whose aura seemed to blend effortlessly with her surroundings.
She was the daughter of Zeus, one of the Olympians' strongest, and though she didn't have the prominence of some of the academy's more high-profile figures, her divine lineage and power were evident. I didn't know much about her beyond that, as she hadn't been central in the storyline of the novel I'd read, so this was all new territory to me—layers of her personality and life that I hadn't expected to uncover.
Eileithyia instructed me to take off my shirt, and I complied, feeling her come close as her fingers traced over the muscles of my chest and shoulders. Her cheeks flushed a deep, unmistakable red before her hands drifted to my injury.
"Stay still," she murmured, beginning to chant softly under her breath. A warm glow enveloped her hands, and I felt a tingle spread across my skin as she worked her magic.
Soon, the discomfort that had lingered from the injury began to dissipate, melting away under her touch. "There, all done. It wasn't that hard, was it?" Eileithyia said. Her hands lingered on my chest, her cheeks still rosy.
I'd always prided myself on having my emotions under control, but right now, they slipped past every boundary. My hands moved as if on their own, wrapping around her waist to pull her closer. Her body pressed against mine, the warmth of her soft curves igniting a rush of feelings I hadn't expected. Our faces hovered mere inches apart, and the air crackled with unspoken tension.
"Eileithyia…" I breathed, caught in the spell of the moment.
Before I could second-guess myself, I leaned in and captured her lips with mine. The softness of her mouth against mine was like a dream, a sweet wonder that sent me soaring. I deepened the kiss, wanting to draw her even closer. Eileithyia responded instantly, parting her lips to welcome my tongue.
A gentle moan escaped her as our tongues danced together, exploring and entwining, lost in the warmth and sweetness of each other. It felt as if the world around us melted away, leaving only this blissful connection. We kissed until the need for air became an undeniable urgency. Our foreheads rested against each other as we caught our breath.
"Eileithyia, if you want me to stop, please tell me right now. Otherwise, I won't be able to if we keep on going," I warned, my voice husky.
Eileithyia bit her lower lip, her eyes shining with a mixture of uncertainty and desire. She looked more sexy than I could ever imagine. "I… I won't stop you," she whispered, barely audible yet enough to send a thrill through me.
That was all the encouragement I needed. I leaned in once more, kissing her deeply, my hands moving down to grope her ass, pulling her closer still. I lifted her effortlessly, her legs wrapping around my waist as I carried her towards the bed. Our lips barely parted as I took a seat with her in my lap, neither of us willing to let go.
