But Caroline had no intention of dying. She had plans for her future, the school's future. She wasn't letting everything go. Not her school, and no one to take care of it. She had a promise to uphold the Salvatore School. Caroline fumbled for a whistle in her pocket. She blew it three times.
It was for the emergency at school. After a few seconds, four hundred students ran out of the school.
"Headmistress Forbes?" Students stood behind the group.
The wolves were overpowered by the students. They helped her up. She pulled out the wood from her neck.
"Thank you." She croaked.
Davina removed the spell, and a teacher took Caroline inside the house. Hope Mikaelson woke up.
She called Klaus.
"Dad!"
"Hope, it is 2 o'clock in the middle of the night!" His booming voice was heard. "Why are you calling at this hour!?"
"I want you to come home," She told Klaus, "Caroline was attacked by wolves, and she needs your blood. I can't believe what you did!"
She almost shouted.
"Caroline...What happened?" Klaus almost yelled, "Give her a few drops of your blood, because if I come, it will be too late!"
Hope Mikaelson put her arm on Caroline's lips. She pulled away. Hope took a knife and bled out, a few drops fell as it healed.
"Hold on!" Caroline yelped. "Klaus!"
"What happened, love?"
"Klaus, Hayley is in danger…..Finn is after her." She was breathing very fast. "Go after her. Find her!"
On the other side of the phone,
"I'll get Hayley!" Freya told them, "It won't be any trouble."
Freya Mikaelson disappeared.
"I am going!" Klaus was running to the other side of the Mikaelson Compound,
"What the hell?" Elijah shouted. "You will get killed."
"I don't care, Elijah."
He couldn't stop him, even if he wanted to. Because he understood. He was dying from listening to Hayley being captured. He left with Freya.
Klaus Mikaelson went out of Mikaelson Compound, to the way of Mystic Falls, which was all Finn wanted.
"I'm fine, Hope!" She sat up, "Kids, please…..Go back to bed. I am really grateful for what you did for me, today!"
She told her students,
"But still, that is no reason for not sleeping." She told them. "You have to go to bed, you have those exams tomorrow."
They groaned.
"Come on, Good night."
"Goodnight!" They went outside.
"You too, Lizzie, Josie….Hope!" She told them.
"But mom."
"Davina is here, and I am fine!" She told them.
"But Caroline…."
"I know, sweetheart, that you saved me today." She fondled her hair, "And I love you, but you have school tomorrow."
They knew Caroline wouldn't budge, so they went to sleep. Davina sat with her. Caroline fell asleep on the couch, and Davina slept in Caroline's bed.
This was the first and only time Caroline was ever late for School.
Caroline Mikaelson was in the house. She had had a long day, Alaric took the girls out to a carnival.
She threw her bag on the couch, and sat down.
They needed a new teacher, and Caroline was organizing some interviews. She had more work to do.
She felt something move in her house, it was strange, no one else was there.
"Hello?"
Finn appeared out of nowhere, she backed away, surprised,
"What are you doing here?" She cried loudly.
"Niklaus will come running after he hears what happened tomorrow." He sneered at her.
"No, he won't!" She defied him, "He is New Orleans, for Hayley!"
"Oh….You underestimate his love for you!" He told her. "He has Elijah to worry for Hayley, he will come!"
"No, he won't."
Caroline tried to use her vampire powers but Finn was using his magic to nullify them. There was nothing she could do.
Caroline was attacked by Finn Mikaelson, in order to trap Klaus. He was inches away from her heart, holding the stake he made from ripping out the side of the banister of the staircase.
"Where is the man when you need him?" The words just escaped Caroline's mouth, as she happened to be trapped by magic, and helpless.
"Klaus?" Finn laughed in her face, "Aren't we just waiting for her!? You really think he won't come for you!"
The stake started to push through her skin. And she closed her eyes. This was it. Her last moments.
"You called me, love?"
Klaus Mikaelson stood in front of her, his arms wide open, Finn's lifeless body on the ground, and the same wooden piece in his heart.
"How did you get here so fast?" She asked. Glad to see him.
"Don't I always do?" His one sided smile appeared.
She remembered Hayley.
"Hayley? Is she okay? Did you find her? Is she safe? Why did you leave her?" She asked many questions without taking a pause.
"Relax, love!" Klaus told her, "Freya has already found her, she's safe, and locked in the compound…..until...."
He nodded towards Finn's dead body.
"I guess she can come out now!"
"Klaus…." She started to say, "The white oak…..It's still missing. Your mother is still on the other side, still channeling magic!"
"I know, she's the one who is hiding the white oak."
"How can she?" Caroline asked. "Didn't she turn into a vampire? Didn't you stake her?"
"That is the mistake we made!" He sighed. "Never should have staked her!"
"What are we going to do now?" She asked again.
"There is nothing we can do," Klaus sighed again, "Wait for the white oak sighting and burn it."
