章 1: Klaus Mikaelson In Mystic Falls Again.
Caroline Forbes had announced to everyone that she and Alaric were going to start the Salvatore School. A message was sent out to everyone she knew.
And that's when Klaus Mikaelson reappeared in her life.
Caroline picked up the phone, she was busy, as she was waiting for benefactors to call.
"Hello, This is Caroline Forbes….." She said, "Headmistress of The Salvatore School…..How may I help you?"
"Hello, Love...." She immediately recognized who was on the other end.
"Klaus?" She said, "What do you want?" She was exasperated, she was expecting an important call from six people who had promised to fund the school.
"I am going to ask you something!" Klaus told her, "And you have to say yes."
"No."
"Fine....!" Klaus scowled, "I am going to ask you three things, and you have to say yes to one..."
"Klaus....I don't have tim..."
"I know, so the sooner you do, the sooner I am out of your way."
"Fine!" She gave in, the sooner the call ended, the sooner she could go back to thinking about funding.
"Come to Rome with me?" He said,
"No!" He expected that.
"Can I come over to the school?"
"No!" He expected that too.
"So, I guess I'll see you next week." He said wickedly.
"I...." Caroline sighed, "Well played.....I guess I'll see you next week."
The phone clicked. Klaus Mikaelson was holding a cheque of three million dollars in his hands. He wanted to give it to her in person. This money was just an excuse to see her.
Caroline smiled as she put the phone down. She wanted to see him as well. But she didn't make an effort to do it. Maybe she was scared, or didn't want to be judged.
"Are you going somewhere?"
Caroline had worn a dress after a long time. She was usually in her black outfit. Always a little formal. She changed her outfit completely. Except for the necklace, with her wedding ring in it.
She hadn't found happiness enough to let go of Stefan's memories. She didn't even try to make memories. And she was Caroline.
Alaric Saltzman was standing on the other side of the hall. She was rushing out of the Salvatore Boarding House,
She had her guard down.
"Yes...Out!"
"Good for you!" He told her,
"Where?" He asked again. He was surprised. Caroline was going out...something she hadn't done in four years,
"I have a date!" She told him.
"A date?!" Alaric smiled, "Good for you!"
She was walking out.
"With who?"
"Klaus….."
"Klaus Mikaelson?" He asked.
"Yes....Is it bad?" She asked, putting on shoes.
"YES!....I don't know.." Alaric scratched his face. "I don't know what to say….."
"Well, I am going..." She told him, "I'll see if everything goes good…..and I'll be careful, I promise….."
She told him,
"Please be!" He told her.
And she left.
Klaus Mikaelson was sitting on a corner table, in the Mystic Grill. She looked at her watch. She wasn't late. He was early.
She walked over to the table,
"Hello, love…."
"Hello, Klaus…" She smiled.
She sat down.
"How are you?" He asked, "I heard about the Salvatore School,"
"It's been three years." She told him.
"Can we go out?" He asked.
"Sure…." She was confused, but promptly got up, and followed Klaus.
They started to walk outside.
"How is it going?" He asked, as he opened the door for her, and came outside.
"The school is low on funding…." She said, "But, I think some benefactors I have been talking to will pull through!"
She sighed.
"On that note…." His hand went to his pocket and pulled out an envelope. "This is for you."
"Oh….You didn't have to….." She opened the envelope and pulled it out. It was cheque.
"Oh My God!" She read it. "Oh My GOD!!!"
She hugged him, he was surprised.
"Oh….Quite a reaction, love!" He wrapped his arms around her. "It's just years of sitting at the bank."
"I know!!!" She squealed. "I really needed this, Klaus!"
"My pleasure!" Klaus smiled. "And…."
He hesitated.
"Yes…" She told him, "What is it?"
"Since I did what I came to do," He said, "There is one more thing I came for…..I actually came for."
"Okay?" She laughed. It was weird. Klaus was nervous about something.
"Can I have a chance?"
"A chance at what?"
"A date with you."
"You came from New Orleans….to ask me out?" She asked.
"Yes…." Klaus admitted.
"Okay…." She said, "Yes….."
"Really?"
"Yes…."
"After a thousand times, I asked you out." He exclaimed, "And you say yes now? What changed?"
"A lot did, actually." She said, "I was a teeager back then, and maybe a lot scared of you." She admitted, "But even then, I never wanted you to leave even if I said you should leave."
She whispered the last bit.
"You know, Caroline...." He was walking right behind her. "I have vampire hearing…"
"So?" She was confused.
"I heard that!" He said,
She blushed.
"So, Do you want to eat?"
He asked.
"Sure." She told him,
Klaus Mikaelson's face had the widest smile on his face as he directed her into the car.
Caroline Forbes was going on a date for the first time in four years.
Klaus and Caroline had been sitting in the restaurant for hours, she was having fun. She was laughing, she was enjoying herself...….after a very long time.
"Excuse me?" The waiter was standing behind Caroline's seat. "Sir…."
"Yes?" Klaus asked him.
"Sir…." He pointed to the wall clock, "It's twelve O clock, we need to close…."
"Right…" Caroline stood up, she took out dollars from her purse, and put them on the table. So did Klaus, and they started to walk out.
"I had a lot of fun, Klaus….!" She told him. "It was great!"
"So did I!" He smiled. "But then how can one not enjoy your company?" Klaus told her, "I would never miss a chance to see you."
She smiled.
They were walking down Mystic Falls. They stopped in front of the Forbes House.
"Well, this is me!" She told him,
"I guess, I'll be going…." He kissed her on the cheek.
She turned the key in the lock,
"Caroline..." She turned around. "Can I see you again?"
