Mu Yuze's entire body remained frozen in place, his mind reeling as that familiar endearment echoed beside his ears again and again like a broken cassette. 

Am I dreaming? He wondered dazedly. Have I missed him so much that I conjured his voice out of thin air? 

However, no sooner had that question crossed his mind, slow and deliberate footsteps approached him from behind. And just like that, Mu Yuze's heartbeat, which had barely slowed down, began to thrash wildly inside his ribcage to the point where he could feel the skin on his chest vibrate with the sheer intensity of it. His pupils dilated sharply and without a warning, tears welled up in his eyes.

How could he ever be mistaken about it? This overpowering aura capable of sucking the very air out of the room, this intense presence that commanded attention even when he did nothing but simply stand… it could only be one person.
