Mrs. Nelson broke down into occasional bursts of weeping, as she had been doing since waking from her nap and discovering Mr. Nelson's returned wallet. Celeste tended to her with a limitless supply of tissues and cold cloths. Dr. Tanner - who had returned to the house minutes after he received Zoey's call - paced the floor while waiting for a patrol car.
