Asher was walked into the restaurant in time to see Martha Knight drop his phone on the table.

He picked it up. Leave it to his meddlesome mother to answer his phone call.

"Who called?" Asher asked and sat down.

"No one important, wrong number. So, baby what do you want to order?" Martha smiled brightly and waved for the waitress to come.

Asher checked his call history and he recognized the number. It was Pepper. And he knew his mother well enough to know that if he made a big deal about taking his call, she wouldn't rest until she found out why he was being so protective.

"Do we need to have a conversation about privacy and personal phones, mother?" Asher said in a mellowed voice and placed the phone into his pocket.
