The firefighters put out the flames that lit up the night sky and claimed my home. It was beyond repair, but I hoped to save a few things that were in the basement. I tried going in as soon as they put out the fire, but Silas and a firefighter stopped me. I used some magic to try to put the fire out before they showed up, but it was in full swing and took too much power.
Besides, I had a more pressing issue to take my magic out on. There was nothing I could do to save the house, but there was a lot I could do to the person who started it. I refused to show up to this fight without strength.
“You should stay here or go over to Liz’s place. Let me deal with this,” Silas pleaded.
“Oh, if you think for a second that this house burning down is going to scare me enough to keep me from going with you, you don’t know me very well,” I sneered.
“This battle has nothing to do with you. You are best to stay out of it,” Silas spat.
