He waits a moment to see her response to this. He couldn't tell if she was really shocked by what he just told him or if she didn't believe a word he just said. He stared at her for a moment, waiting for a reaction from her before he decided to speak again.
"I'm being serious. I know it's... horrible and it's hard to swallow but I felt you deserved to know this about him."
Megan gets looks down at her hands as her body starts shaking. The possibility of what Apollo told her being true is 100, she knew that loyalty meant everything in their world so if Monica really betrayed Roman like that he would kill her, even if he loved her.
He sees her begin to shake and he sees her looking at her hands. He gets concerned by her reactions to this and he can't help but to feel horrible. He looks at her with a very worried and concerned look as he reaches out to her and he lays his hand on her hand.
"It's gonna be okay. I'm sorry for telling you this... but I felt that you should have known."
She starts crying as fear takes over her body. She knew Roman was a dangerous man and that he could be ruthless when he wanted to but killing his fiancè on their wedding day seemed so extreme and heartless even for him.
"I have never seen that side of him and I'm scared that one day I will."
His heart felt like it was breaking when he sees her suddenly start crying. She was starting to tremble as well as her tears begin falling down her cheeks. He stares at her with fear for her. He doesn't want her to go through this and yet... he had to tell her this. He feels so sorry for her... but he couldn't stand by and watch her be taken advantage of. He didn't want this for her... especially since she didn't deserve it. He speaks softly to her.
"I'm sorry..."
"Is this why you warned me not to date him?" She asked, "Because he is capable of killing me?"
He nods his head and he holds her hand tightly. He doesn't want to scare her more but... he needs to get this point across.
"Yes. If you push him too hard or if you get on his wrong side then there is no doubt that he would kill you without a second thought. I can't have that happen to you. You're too kind and you don't deserve to go through that."
"I don't know what to do...I feel scared Apollo...not of Roman but for our future."
His heart broke to hear her say that she is scared. He immediately lets go of her hand and he pulls her into a hug as he keeps her close to him. She doesn't have to be scared. He will protect her. He holds her tightly and he speaks softly to her. "You don't have to be scared. I'm here. I promise I will keep you safe. I'll always protect you. I wouldn't let anything happen to you."
Megan hugs him back tightly. She felt comfort in his warmth. She let her gaurd down for once around her. She slowly pulls away looking into his eyes as more tears fell from her eyes. "Promise?"
He felt a wave of warmth wash over him when they hug tightly and he nods his head. He stares at her tearful eyes and he can't help but to feel a bit sad by it. He nods his head and he stares at her with a calm and soft look on his face.
"I promise. I will protect you from anything no matter what. You have nothing to worry about with me because you're safe with me. I won't let him harm you. I promise you that."
Apollo lean down closer to her lips and she stares up at him not moving. Megan didn't know what to do or how to feel. Everything was so messed up.
Apollo stared at her as he got closer and he let's his body get closer to hers. She looked so beautiful and so tempting but he can't just take advantage of her in her vulnerable state. She is in a very confusing and delicate state right now and he doesn't know if he should do it. So instead of continuing to make a move on her, he pulls away from her slightly. His hand goes to her cheek and he looks at her with a rather concerned look. "Are you okay?"
"Thank you for being here for me." She smiles leaning into his touch.
He nods his head at her expression but a small part of him couldn't help but think about how this hug was making him feel. His thoughts were of temptation and he was starting to not be able to control himself. But he kept his head straight and he was able to snap out of it. He can't take advantage of her like this. He can't allow his selfish desires to get in the way.
"You don't have to thank me. I care deeply about you and I'll always be here for you."
Megan smiles gently at him. Warmth engulfing her heart. Her view of Apollo was slowly changing and she didn't see him as an obnoxious jerk anymore .
"I think I better get going."
A small smile forms on his face, realizing that there was maybe a chance for them to be a couple. His heart races when he thinks about that but for now, he needs to let her do her thing. He nods his head at her. "Yeah... I think that's for the best. But... before you go..."
She stops at the door curious to hear what he was about to say to her. "Yes Apollo?"
He can't help but to feel his heart beating fast when she looks at him. Her beauty is so captivating and it's honestly making it hard for him to take an eye off of her.
"Promise me that if he ever hurts you that you'll let me know? Because you mean a lot to me and I would be devastated if I heard that he harmed you. Can you promise me that?"
"I promise." She says with a smile.
