章 44: Saviour complex

Later that night, Esmeralda was lying on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Occasionally she would blink her eyes and then heave a sigh. This continued for almost an hour. She would change sides in bed in hope that sleep would finally come to her but each time she would find herself staring at the ceiling. 

Her thoughts went to the time when Ethan dropped her at her apartment. He had been quite a gentleman to her and this was giving her a lot of mixed feelings.

These days she has been thinking a lot. Most of the time, she would be thinking about Oliver. How their romance started and how it ended. She had always known that loving him was a losing game and she had seen so much evidence of the same but each time she would find excuses to justify those small clues. In her heart, she had determined that Oliver was her one true love. She was not ready to listen to anything else and no logic and reason had made her think otherwise.
