章 16: Chapter 16
Desmond woke up in the morning and walked out of her room (which she had to herself) and walked to the mess hall. She got her food and sat down with Adena and Stephen. She sat next to Stephen and across from Adena. Mandy came with her food and kissed Stephen on the cheek claiming him as hers. Desmond got the subtle hint and moved a little to her right. Mandy sat down in her place.
"So Desmond, where'd you go to high school?" Asked Mandy
"I was homeschooled." Desmond answered as she picked up her breakfast sandwich
"Oh." Said Mandy
"So Desmond, any nickname you go by or is it just Desmond?" Asked Stephen casually
"I usually go by Desmond but my father calls me Des for short." Desmond simply replied
"That's good to know, training today... Anything in particular you would like to practice?" Asked Stephen
"I don't know what's there to know?" Asked Desmond
"Well how to stay calm in situations were you might not be able to show your wolf, survival in a pack, how to transform, how to maintain control on a full moon, how to howl to summon your pack leader or betas, and how to mind link." Said Stephen
"What's a mind link?" Asked Desmond
"It's hard to explain." Stephen said as he scratched the back of his neck
"Well it's when werewolves can talk to each other by thinking it not out loud... Its really quite easy I picked it up fairly quickly... Most of the time mind links help when you are planning an attack or not able to talk aloud to your pack due to circumstances." Adena said
"Can we work on that?" Asked Desmond as she turned to Stephen to look for his answer
"Sure." Stephen said
"Desmond how old are you?" Asked Lola who had just joined the group
"I am 19 as of last week." She said
"So your birthday is?" Asked Lola
"May 12th 2000." Desmond said answering Lola's question
"Cool, so did you go to hunters hollow high?" Asked Lola
"Homeschooled." Said Mandy and Stephen at the same time
Myles then sat next to Adena. Casey followed not to far after along with Delilah and Sasha. Travis sat down at the table now as well. Jackson was at a table with Finn, his younger brother, along with Theo and their friends. Lila a friend of Delilah's sat at the table as well. Myles ate his food and threw his trash away. He returned and sat down again this time putting an arm around Adena's waist and pulling her closer. Mandy was practically sitting on Stephen. Lola and Travis where cracking jokes. Lila was talking with Delilah about the latest drama. Casey and Sasha where talking about spells and plans to got to the underworld to retrieve the spell from Casey's grandma. Desmond quietly ate her food. Until it was too much to bare anymore. It was all too much, the talking, the people, and the fact she was alone, at least she thought. She let out a scream. Everyone seemed as if they where put on pause. She had managed to freeze time. She had no idea what this meant. She and one other where the only ones unfrozen, and that was Delilah the siren. Delilah and Desmond stood up. They looked around the room. Then they looked at each other. They took a long hard look at each other.
"You froze time... How?" Delilah asked, amazed with the other girl
"Me? I froze time? How? I'm just a werewolf." Said Desmond shocked that Delilah thought she was capable of such things
"I don't think your just a werewolf... I believe your also a witch which makes you a siren." Said Delilah
The more they stared at each other they began to realize how alike they look. Each had straight blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, and freckles. How could no one have noticed it before. They looked exactly alike. They didn't know it but as children they where separated at birth. Their mother died giving birth to them. So Zachariah got Desmond and Mrs Fitz got Delilah. Both raised in separate houses and separate parts of the town. Until one day they ran into each other. They were scared because they saw each other and had no idea how to react. Their combined screams almost tore the town apart. So Zachariah and Mrs Fitz took them to Helen maxwell. Helen put a spell on the whole town so that the twins and the town wouldn't see or even know they where related until the sixteenth birthday which was May 12th. The only way they could find out about each other is when they figured how to freeze time, which Desmond managed to do.
"Siren? I thought they where mermaids." Said Desmond
"No, that's just according to some dumbass who had no idea what he was talking about." Said Delilah
"So we are sirens? What exactly is that?" Asked Desmond
"It's a werewolf and a witch combined." Said Delilah
"So we can perform spells?" Asked Desmond
"Yes, and we can transform just like any werewolf... I'm apart of Adena's pack, we've known each other for a long time she's pretty laid back." Delilah paused, "Do you have any clue how to unfreeze time?"
"Not a clue." Desmond said walking around the mess hall
Delilah followed close behind her twin.
"How come we've never noticed?" Delilah said
"Noticed what?" Asked Desmond
"That we are twins. Why didn't we know that? I've seen you around before." Said Delilah
"I don't know. But I do think Zachariah may know." Said Desmond
"Wait you don't call Zachariah your father?" Asked Delilah
"No, I know he's not my father... Why call him it." Desmond responded
"Wait if your adopted... Then that means... So am I." Delilah said
Delilah didn't seem hurt by the fact she wasn't told but at the fact she may have been given way. She felt as if everything she knew was now crumbling from underneath her feet. Desmond kept skipping through the mess hall.
"Where are you going?" Asked Delilah
"Zachariah's office." Said Desmond
"Why?" Delilah asked
"To find out more about our skills and maybe he's got a book in there about freezing time." Said Desmond
