章 40: Chapter 40 - "It's not that the Meng family is good."

The ball ended at two o'clock in the morning. Although the guests felt that Yan Sui—who was not coming back down after he took Meng Ting to their room—was being a little too impatient. However, since it was his wedding night, they thought it was understandable. Moreover, with Gu Lang's fun-loving gang, the atmosphere would only become better. And regarding Yan Sui's behavior, even He Wan could not interfere; much less them, who were irrelevant people.

At the end of the lively and noisy day, all the guests had already left. The servants in the drawing room were still tidying up. Nanny Wang had already persuaded Uncle Xiao to go to sleep, but he was still talking with Zhen Han at the side of the sofa that had just been fixed. As for Yan Manjia and He Wan, both had already returned to their rooms to sleep at about one o'clock.

Originally, He Wan did not want to stay at the Yans' residence, but she was too bothered by Yan Manjia's words. She did not like the Yans' residence, but she still stayed.

"Why are you here?" Bewildered, Zhen Han looked at the approaching Yan Sui, who was followed behind by Zhao Bing. Obviously, he did not just come from his and Meng Ting's room. He and Zhao Bing must have gone to settle something.

"Go ahead and handle it." Yan Sui raised his hand and allowed Zhao Bing to leave first. He continued to walk over, then he sat on the sofa and asked Uncle Xiao, "Have you investigated the matter?"

"Yes." Uncle Xiao and Zhen Han were just talking about this matter, "Madame did not take the key from my room today. She'd always had in her possession a spare key to your room."

As for when she had it, Uncle Xiao believed that it could have been a long time ago—one or two years—it could even be one or two decades ago. Yan Sui had only stayed in that room. It had been renovated several times, but the lock had never been changed.

The emotions in Yan Sui's eyes were so cold that it was impossible to see his happiness or anger. He looked up at Uncle Xiao and his voice were somewhat indifferent, saying, "Tomorrow, get someone to change all the locks in the house. In the future, if I'm not here, she's not allowed to come into the study and the bedroom."

"Yes." Uncle Xiao bent slightly at his waist as he spoke.

"There's someone locked up in the basement. She's also not allowed to go there," Yan Sui added. He then turned to look at Zhen Han and his complexion eased up a little. "You've all worked hard today. Take a rest."

Uncle Xiao bowed again and left. Zhen Han sat on the sofa beside Yan Sui. His face was completely filled with abhorrence. "What the hell is she thinking? Such a disgusting person."

She hid the key to Yan Sui's room for so many years. What did she want to do with it? Still, did she want to peer into her own son's private life? Yan Sui was not seven or eight years old but twenty-eight. He was now a married man and had a spouse. Even one who knew a little etiquette would not do such a thing.

Yan Sui did not answer his question, yet the coldness in his eyes was getting slightly stronger. It was not only Meng Ting who had those rotten-hearted relatives—he also had them. In a sense, between them and these relatives was only an indelible blood relationship that could not be washed out. Emotionally speaking, they could not even be considered as relatives.

Zhen Han looked at Yan Sui whose face had become even colder, and he sighed slightly. He patted Yan Sui's shoulder and said, "Don't think too much about it. Today's your wedding. You should be happy. Don't let others spoil the bliss. It's not worth it."

Yan Sui heard him and remembered Meng Ting, then the corners of his mouth evoked a faint smile very naturally. "I'm very happy."

Zhen Han glanced at Yan Sui's sudden melted appearance and his mouth twitched. It seemed he was worried for nothing. He stood up, "In a moment, the two of you will catch a plane to go abroad and have some fun. I'm going back as well. Call me if anything happens."

For the past few days, he had stayed at the old residence, not because of Yan Manjia, but rather because of Yan Sui's wedding. His own mother and aunt were unreliable. Only his cousin was on top. Now that things were settled, he certainly did not have the habit of causing great inconvenience for himself.

Zhen Han turned to go and heard Yan Sui speak from behind, saying "Wait a minute."

Zhen Han turned back again and saw Yan Sui's expression that was cold all throughout. He thought that Yan Sui would understand him.

"I'm taking Meng Ting abroad. Come back here every three days, check on Rhubarb and Furball, and send me some photos of them once in a while."

Zhen Han, who thought Yan Sui had wanted to urge him to mend his relationship with Yan Manjia, could not swallow his breath and was almost choked to death.

"Got it, you're such a wife slave!" Zhen Han spoke as he stomped his feet. He was aware that he was too naive and snorted as he left the drawing room.

Yan Sui sat in the drawing room for a while. After he went over what he had in mind, only then did he get up and go upstairs.

After changing his clothes, Yan Sui laid down beside Meng Ting. He stretched out his hand and took the boy into his arms. He lightly kissed Meng Ting between the brows, then closed his eyes as well.

Meng Ting rubbed against the man next to him and also wrapped both of his arms around to embrace the man. His eyes remained closed, yet his mouth started to mumble, "Yan Sui, where have you been?"

"I went downstairs for a bit. Be good. I'm back now. Let's sleep."

Meng Ting did not speak anymore and the hands that were clasped onto the man slightly loosened up as well. Even when drunk, he was unable to sleep well. Only being held in Yan Sui's embrace could he sleep soundly.

However, the flight was scheduled at eight o'clock and they could not sleep in. Both got up around five o'clock. Yan Sui packed up their things while Meng Ting took the early-rising Rhubarb for a walk. He then cuddled and stroked the still-sleeping Furball lightly, making a final farewell.

"You guys be good at home. Rhubarb, you must take care of Furball, do you understand?" Meng Ting freed up a hand and stroked Rhubarb. Rhubarb's wound was lighter than Furball's and it was healing fast. When he took it out just now, it had begun to prance about happily.

"Woof…woof!" The first bark was soft, but the next bark had become vicious. Meng Ting followed Rhubarb's gaze and saw that He Wan was coming down the stairs. Her expression also immediately darkened when she looked at this side. Obviously, she recalled the conflict between them both on that day.

The two looked at each other. Meng Ting then turned his head and immediately patted Rhubarb's head.

Rhubarb grunted and put down its guard, but it still squeezed over to Meng Ting's leg.

Furball yawned lazily, then finally opened its eyes. Its light blue eyes were clear and beautiful. Its new fur had also grown a little. It was not as ugly as when it first arrived at the Yans' residence.

However, it was still very thin and far from Meng Ting's 'fur' and 'ball' expectation. It would need a longer time to recover and grow.

Meng Ting rubbed its head and placed it on Rhubarb's neck. Both were motionless and looked at Meng Ting with wide eyes. Meng Ting could not help laughing. He then squatted down and placed a kiss on Rhubarb and Furball's head.

After kissing them, he picked Furball up and grabbed Rhubarb's leash. Walking closer to He Wan, he nodded his head and greeted her, "Good Morning, Mom."

He Wan did not return her daughter-in-law's greeting. She stared at Meng Ting who then walked past her, bringing along Rhubarb and Furball.

After he sent Rhubarb and Furball back to their shelters, he went to the kitchen to find Nanny Wang. He urged her again and again for a good little while, before going back to the drawing room, where Yan Sui had already come down with their suitcases.

"There're so many things. You must've worked hard." Meng Ting had thought that Yan Sui would only pick a few pieces of clothes at random for themselves; but unexpectedly, there were two big-packed suitcases. All he did was take Rhubarb and Furball to play and did not give Yan Sui a hand at all.

He stepped forward, took a suitcase, then held his hand. "Nanny Wang has cooked delicious meat porridge. You've worked hard so you have to eat two more bowls."

"Okay." A little smile appeared on Yan Sui's face. He took him to put aside the suitcases then led him over to the dining table.

"Where are Sui'er and Ting Ting going?" At any rate, He Wan [1] still asked a good question. Since coming down the stairs, Yan Sui had been ignoring her until now. Even so, He Wan still stood in a dignified manner and maintained her mood, but a hint of questioning spilled over a little.

[1] Originally written as Meng Ting, but He Wan should be the one indicated here. Probably a typo.)

Yan Sui took a seat with Meng Ting. Only after filling up a bowl of porridge for him did Yan Sui answer He Wan. "Going on a trip."

His gaze remained on Meng Ting when he responded to her. He picked two more stalks of vegetables for him and then muttered, "Eat slowly."

Both statements were brief, yet the difference in attitude was like heaven and earth. Even if He Wan wanted to pretend that she did not mind, she still could not fake it anymore. "Is this your attitude when talking to you mother?"

This morning, He Wan only wanted to make a ruckus. Nanny Wang and Uncle Xiao looked at her with their brows knitted, but their position was not good enough to say anything. Meng Ting swallowed a mouthful of food, then looked at He Wan.

"What Mom said is really strange. You asked Yan Sui a question, didn't he already answer it? What bad attitude? Obviously, it was very good."

As he spoke, he turned his head and looked at Yan Sui. "Don't be angry. Let's eat."

Clearly, it was He Wan who was being angered, but Meng Ting was worried that Yan Sui would be angry instead. This regardless-of-right-or-wrong protectiveness had a few points matching the characteristics of a member of the Yan family.

As he spoke, Meng Ting also filled a bowl of porridge for Yan Sui and added quite a bit of vegetables in it.

"It's really delicious." Meng Ting's praises toward Nanny Wang's dishes were even more than Zhen Han's. Having drank the porridge, there appeared a light water luster on his lips. Looking at it, it could not be said that it was as silky as the eyes, yet it had some unconscious charm that bewitches people.

Yan Sui smiled again. "Okay, I'll listen to you."

Meng Ting lowered his voice and slightly leaned toward Yan Sui, saying, "You're good."

This side was dense with sweet affections as warm as spring, while He Wan was trembling with anger over Meng Ting's words. However, anyone who had heard what Meng Ting said would also feel that he was not wrong. She wanted to lash out but could not find the reason to do so now.

She walked out immediately, not wanting to have breakfast in the old residence at all.

Yan Manjia could not wake up unless it was nine or ten in the morning. Yan Sui gave a few more instructions to Uncle Xiao and Nanny Wang, then he took Meng Ting to the car. After an hour, they arrived at the airport, and got on the plane half an hour later. Eleven hours later, they arrived at the capital city of F Country.

Now, it was seven in the evening in Haicheng, but only 11 am in F Country. The daylight was just right.

"For today, let's get rid of our jet lag first. Tomorrow, we can take our time and have fun."

F Country was highly recommended to Yan Sui by Zhen Han and Shi He. This romantic nation really did live up to its name. It was the most suitable place for someone like Yan Sui who did not know much about romance. The country came with its own romantic attribute, so Yan Sui did not need to rake his brain much. These buddies of his were indeed highly considerate.

Of course, Yan Sui did not choose this place merely because of their recommendation. It was because he found that Meng Ting likes flowers very much. Every day, there would be a bouquet of fresh flowers in the living room. Whenever Meng Ting got to choose his seat, he would definitely sit next to the flowers, and once in a while, he would unconsciously tilt his head to smell it.

This small detail, if one was not attentive, would be very difficult to discover, but in such a short period of time, Yan Sui had noticed it. The flowers in F Country bloomed most beautifully in July and August. He wanted to make Meng Ting happy; therefore, he had naturally taken Meng Ting's liking into consideration and ultimately chose this place.

"Mr. Yan!"

"Mr. Yan!"

A black man and a white man, one after another called Yan Sui. He turned over with Meng Ting, and both men also came over. "Our Master heard that Mr. Yan will take Mrs. Yan here to have fun, and intentionally asked us to pick you up from the plane."

"Eldest Young Master also asked me to welcome you."

"Sir." As they spoke, there came another man from Xia Country. He was followed behind by two other men. "Sir, Ma'am."

Yan Sui nodded and let them take the suitcases that they were holding.

He looked at both the black and white men, "No need. I have my own plans here. If I need anything, I'll look for him."

"Tell the same to my cousin as well."

Both men listened to Yan Sui's words and did not insist anymore. They slightly bowed then watched them leave.

"There were collateral branches of the Yan family who came to F Country many years ago. The white man works for my cousin, as for the black guy, he works for a friend here."

The Yans had a long history. The Yan clan in Haicheng was considered to be the oldest. The other branches had also developed well enough. His cousin's predecessors came to F Country more than a hundred years ago. With the support from Haicheng's Yan clan, their place amongst the nobilities in F Country had taken root. It was only after Yan Sui had made the arrangements that his people's action on this side had alerted them and hence, his cousin had also sent people to escort them.

As for that friend, he had previously called Yan Sui. While he was not present in F Country, his family was in the hotel business. If he was on his usual business trip, they would pick him up, and he would have gone with them. Now that he was on his honeymoon with Meng Ting, he did not want to do much socializing.

"Let's just have a simple meal with them before we leave." Yan Sui patiently explained to Meng Ting about this collateral branch of the Yan clan. As for his carefree cousin, he gave no more than a one-sentence introduction. That friend of his was also only briefly mentioned.

They left the airport by car. The drive took four hours before they arrived in their accommodation for the next few days.

The manor where they went to was an estate purchased by the Yans many years ago. Both Yan Manjia and Zhen Han had lived here before. In contrast, it was Yan Sui's first time coming here. Green trees and grasslands, water streaming through flower fields, ancient castle walls—the scenery along the way was breathtaking enough.

Meng Ting had slept on the plane and he was in a good mood at the moment. He leaned forward to look at the scenery through the car window for quite some time. On the other hand, Yan Sui was leaning against him, taking a short nap.

"Yan Sui, we've arrived."

After Yan Sui leaned against him, Meng Ting looked at the scenery somewhat absentmindedly. He turned and shifted his body further to the back, then supported Yan Sui with both hands; thus, allowing him to sleep better. After the car had stopped for some time, only then did he notice that they had arrived.

Yan Sui, with eyes still closed, raised his hand, groping. He touched Meng Ting's cheeks first. After receiving a gentle rub from Meng Ting, only then did he open his eyes.

He sat up and turned his head to look at Meng Ting. He observed him carefully, then pulled his hand over. "Feeling numb?"

Meng Ting looked at Yan Sui with slightly red cheeks, then he nodded honestly.

"It doesn't matter. I like it when you're leaning on me."

Meng Ting's affection came completely from his heart. Yan Sui had slept well, and hearing Meng Ting's words, his mood further improved. He rubbed his hand, pulled him over and kissed him on the lips. "Let's get out of the car."

"Okay," Meng Ting answered as his cheeks blushed even more. He felt that ever since the day they married, Yan Sui had become slightly more passionate toward him. Kisses and hugs were no longer abstained in front of others, probably because they were married. It was great to be married.

The corners of Meng Ting's mouth overflowed with smiles when he thought about it. After Yan Sui left slightly ahead, he followed up and dropped a kiss on Yan Sui's lips. His brows curved and as if sunlight sprinkled all over the whole person; it felt warm and clean.

"This is Rose Manor. Just now, the one who brought those men to welcome us and take care of the manor was Uncle Li, Li Yuan."

Yan Sui led Meng Ting along, while introducing the Rose Manor to him. The reason why it was called Rose Manor was because the manor had nearly ten acres of rose flower fields. The beautiful landscape aside, these flowers were supplied to the perfume factory annually and the profit was enough to preserve the maintenance of this ancient manor and the wages of the servants.

For the members of the Yan family, generally speaking, this was merely a beautiful place to spend their vacation in F Country. The annual profit was regarded as a bonus that would be distributed to the servants of the manor. The hope to earn a fortune never crossed their minds.

After Yan Sui finished explaining to Meng Ting, he looked at him, then asked in a low voice, "Do you like it?"

Meng Ting leaned forward slightly to touch the white rose by the side of the stony road. He got closer once again to smell it. The smile on his face grew even brighter. He tilted his head to look at Yan Sui. "Can I pick it?"

"All this is ours, of course you can."

Meng Ting put forth a little strength with his thumb and middle finger, then he held the stalk and snapped it off. He put the rose up against the tip of his nose and smelled it again. After that, he nodded. "I like it."

"Cough," Yan Sui coughed softly and his gaze slightly staggered. After that, he continued to lead Meng Ting along. That scene of Meng Ting bowing his head and smelling the flower dazzled him. The feeling of Meng Ting, with or without the flowers, was very different, but Yan Sui used these differences to conclude that Meng Ting liked the flowers very much.

Although Yan Sui had never lived in Rose Manor, there was a room that belonged to him. After he decided to bring Meng Ting here, the manor had been cleaned inside out more than once, let alone their room.

"In the next few days, the cook, the bodyguards, and the people who take care of the flower fields will stay. The rest can take a vacation. You, too."

Yan Sui said this to Uncle Li as soon as he approached them. He did not even want to see his cousin when he brought Meng Ting here. He also did not like too many people passing by in front of him. Furthermore, he could clearly feel that Meng Ting was somewhat unadaptable to a new environment.

Up until now, he was only looking around and yet, the boy had stuck close to him. The manor clearly pleased Meng Ting's heart. It was the people here that made him uncomfortable.

Li Yuan was taken aback before he responded, "Understood." Yan Sui was the master; what he said goes.

He led Yan Sui and Meng Ting to their room, then went back downstairs to arrange the days off for the dozens of people in the manor.

The pale golden European style decorations seemed to have returned to the Middle Ages. Meng Ting looked around and pulled Yan Sui toward their bed. Then, he half-pulled Yan Sui and half-threw him down on the bed. His furry head rested on Yan Sui's chest and his hands held him tightly. He looked up and kissed Yan Sui. It did not matter where they were.

This whole journey, from getting on the flight to coming here, took almost a whole day; during which, he could not be intimate with Yan Sui at all. He could not help it for a long time and now that it was their hard-to-come-by moment to be alone, naturally, he would not hide it. He only wanted to get as much loving as possible.

"When they're looking at me, I can't kiss you."

Yan Sui held Meng Ting up, then shifted his head into his gaze; once again, both men gradually got closer to each other and exchanged a vigorous kiss that was filled with gentleness and sweetness.

Meng Ting's cheeks blushed harder as he snuggled against Yan Sui's cheeks. The smile on his face could not be restrained.

"We'll have dinner in a moment. After that, I'll take you to the flower fields to have a walk. Starting tomorrow, let's have some fun in the village nearby first."

Meng Ting moved closer and rubbed his nose tip against Yan Sui's nose. "I'll listen to you."

Yan Sui's intention was for him to have fun and eat well, this he could feel it. Since they were already here, naturally, they should enjoy to the fullest.

Both kissed and embraced each other for quite a while before they got up and went downstairs to eat. Dinner was not served inside the manor; instead, it was served at the lakeside behind the ancient manor. The sunset shone obliquely, and as far as their eyes could see, the whole place was poetic and picturesque.

Generally speaking, neither Yan Sui nor Meng Ting were aesthetically perceptive. However, coming to such a scenic place with the person they liked, even if originally they could not comprehend it, they would be able to at this moment. This was because they felt that the person in the scenery was more beautiful and so, the scenery was beautified as well.

Meng Ting was not picky about food. He could eat these Western cuisines but disliked that each portion was so small. The dishes were served one after another as he ate continuously. It took him an hour and a half to be full.

Yan Sui took the napkin and wiped the corners of Meng Ting's mouth, then he led him toward the flower fields.

In Meng Ting's hand were an extra basket and a pair of scissors. He was elated that he could bring back the flowers that he liked.

Specialized florists were also employed in the flower fields. Seeing Meng Ting holding a pair of scissors, their eyes unconsciously stayed on him. However, it was not long before they found out that Meng Ting did not act recklessly; instead, his technique was quite exquisite. Cut and snap, he trimmed off two leaves, then placed the flowers into the basket.

Yan Sui stretched out his hand to hold the flower basket. Meng Ting concentrated on selecting and collecting the flowers until the basket was gradually filled up.

"What are you smelling?" Yan Sui softly asked Meng Ting. He sniffed every flower before he trimmed it, but don't all roses smell the same?

Meng Ting heard the question but did not turn back. He continued to sniff. "Even if it's the same kind of flower, each of them has a distinct fragrance. It's just like we're all humans, but we all look different from each other."

He got up and placed the flowers into the basket that Yan Sui was holding. There was a faint and special smile on his face. "I'm picking the flowers that are both pretty and fragrant."

Yan Sui did not really understand it, but he still followed behind Meng Ting, and did not interrupt him again.

He could see that these flowers were quite special to Meng Ting. There was a kind of an uncontrollable love and intimacy, and it was similar to how he treated Rhubarb and Furball. At a closer look, the more careful he was toward Rhubarb and Furball, the more skillful he was with these flowers.

One walk around the flower fields and the basket was already packed. Meng Ting broke off some vines from the roadside, knelt down on the grass, took the basket and spread out the flowers. After that, he picked them up, one by one, and used the vines to bind them. It did not take a long time before those flowers were arranged into a large bundle.

Holding the white roses, he looked toward Yan Sui, and then extended his ring-donning hand to him. Yan Sui reached out and pulled him up.

"This is for you." Meng Ting's gaze did not part from Yan Sui. He handed over the bouquet in his hand to him.

These were the flowers from their own house, and yet he could make the scent of the flowers more fragrant and comforting. With effort, he reckoned with his heart.

Yan Sui did not take the flowers; instead, he embraced the boy along with the flowers, then he bowed slightly and kissed Meng Ting. It was filled with tenderness and the fragrance of the flowers was intoxicating. At this time, there was only a little tint of light red left on the horizon, and by the time their kiss had ended, the sky had completely turned dark.

"It's very fragrant," Yan Sui whispered as he looked at Meng Ting. He was given a bouquet of fragrant flowers by Meng Ting, but Meng Ting, who was saturated with the fragrance of the flowers, was more fragrant.

Meng Ting pursed his lips and nodded. "It's good that you like it."

He then thought for a bit and added, "In the next few days, I'll pick them for you."

Both Meng Ting and Yan Sui did not notice the value of this bouquet of white roses. The perfume that Meng Ting created in his last life was said to be even worth more than a kilogram of gold. Although the process of making it well-known would inevitably lead to some hype, people who have used it would acknowledge this price.

Yan Sui came back with a bouquet in one hand and Meng Ting in the other. The people in the manor were almost all over the place, but they did not see any curious gazes. Besides, F Country was more lenient when it came to two men falling in love with each other than their home country. It did not matter whether it was two men, a man and a woman, or even two women; but what really matters was the mutual attraction of the two hearts and the nature of the love.

It was now one or two in the morning back at home. After walking around once, they had not yet arrived upstairs when Meng Ting had already yawned a few times. Yan Sui held him by his shoulders. "Head inside and take a shower first. If you're sleepy, then go to sleep."

Meng Ting nodded then asked, "What about you?"

"I'll be in the room tidying up our stuff."

"Okay." Meng Ting nodded. He only needed to be certain that Yan Sui would be in a place where he could find him.

Meng Ting sat on the floor and took some clothes. When he remembered something, he looked sideways. Yan Sui was making their bed. When he was done, he began to unpack the other suitcase. Since they were away on vacation, it was natural that these things should be done by themselves.

However, Meng Ting was a little guilty when he was squatting. He did not help this morning and now, he was still letting Yan Sui do those things by himself. That was not very nice.

Yan Sui turned and met Meng Ting's gaze. "Too sleepy? Want me to help you wash up?"

Meng Ting shook his head. "No, I didn't even help you with anything."

He picked up his clothes and went to the bathroom door, but then looked back at Yan Sui. All of a sudden, a few scenes flashed in his mind. When he got drunk before, he hugged and kissed the man. After which, the scene wherein Yan Sui was giving him a bath also flashed back in his mind.

"What's the matter?" Yan Sui was sticking the white roses that Meng Ting gave him into a vase. He glanced over, only to find that Meng Ting had suddenly returned. "Forgot something?"

Meng Ting shook his head. He grasped Yan Sui's shoulder with one hand, lapped on his lips, then he turned around, and after that, he took three steps back and ran to the bathroom in just two steps.

Yan Sui touched his lips, smiled gently, then he bowed his head down and arranged the flowers. He leaned slightly and smelled it again. Downstairs, the smell of various flowers and plants mixed in so that he did not sense it. When he returned to the room, he found that the bouquet smelled really good. The fragrance was not annoying and it made him feel awfully comfortable.

Usually, it was seldom for Yan Sui to tidy up things like this apart from the desk in his study, but it was not difficult to do. After he was done, he sat on the sofa and opened his phone. There was a new text message.

After reading it, he hesitated a little and took out the laptop. The screen scrolled slowly. He was reading a very long email.

The preliminary investigation of Meng Ting's experience at the orphanage was already available. His face was slightly grave. When the bathroom door opened, he slowly closed the laptop and put it aside. He got up and took the towel that Meng Ting was drying his hair with.

"I couldn't find the hairdryer inside," Meng Ting mumbled as he was drying his hair.

His biological clock was very accurate. He was now incredibly sleepy. He sat on the bed, wrapped his hands around Yan Sui's waist, and leaned into his embrace.

Yan Sui dried his hair with some caution. He was afraid that using too much strength would make Meng Ting uncomfortable. His face was serious, but his movements were incomparably gentle. Meng Ting, who was already drowsy, became even sleepier under this gentle rubbing.

"Yan Sui, you're too good to me."

Yan Sui helped him take a bath, dry his hair, and even did housework that Meng Ting had never done before. He was moved, but at the same time, he was worried that he did not deserve it.

"Treating you well is something that I should do. Have you forgotten what I said? I'm happy being good to you."

Yan Sui leaned over and kissed Meng Ting between the brows. His expression was serious, and yet tender. Certain words, once spoken, were not difficult to say again. Besides, everything he said was the truth and he also wanted Meng Ting to know these words.

Meng Ting gave a soft "Hmm" and closed his eyes completely. He was getting sleepier and sleepier and was on the verge of collapsing.

"Don't sleep yet. I'll go and look for a hairdryer."

"Hmn," Meng Ting replied once again with his eyes closed.

Yan Sui was trying to call Uncle Li while searching, but before the phone was picked up, he managed to find it in the bathroom.

When the person on other side of the line finally picked up the phone, Yan Sui said, "It's nothing," and hurriedly hung up. When he came back, the boy, who had promised him to stay awake, still had a towel wrapped around him and was already sleeping soundly on the pillow.

Even the "hoo hoo" sound of the hairdryer could not wake him up. Yan Sui weaved his hand through Meng Ting's soft hair, and not a trace of impatience could be seen.

What Meng Ting had not learned, he would learn it. Between the two of them, only one person knowing was enough.

If Yan Sui thinks this way, then he would do things accordingly.

He put the towel and hairdryer aside, picked up the boy, adjusted his posture, and finally covering him with a quilt. He looked at him for a while, then leaned over, and kissed him on the forehead. "It's a good thing you're not related to the Mengs."

The results of the preliminary investigation did not include finding the real family of Meng Ting, but it included some things that were important to him and to Meng Ting.

That orphanage did not operate legally. Moreover, it was even involved in some child trafficking transactions. Many families, who did not meet the requirements of adopting children, could adopt children here after paying some money.

There were business deals between the orphanage and the traffickers. They provided the children and the orphanage would profit through the illegal adoption profiteering.

Yu Meixuan did give birth to a boy and she had, indeed, left him in this very orphanage. However, that child was even weaker than Meng Ting and died prematurely two months later. Meng Ting came to the orphanage, a month before that child, but he came from the hands of the traffickers.

After raising him for more than half a year, they found that he had an intellectual problem. Basically, no one wanted to adopt this kind of child; hence, Meng Ting had stayed there for seven or eight years. That year, Li Yifei personally came to the orphanage. She should have known that her grandson had already died, yet she pointed at Meng Ting, claiming that he was her supposedly dead grandson. She even let Wu Fengjiao bring him back.

Perhaps, she felt that a child, who was not of her own blood, could not be trusted and so, she later on worked out a plan wherein she must hold information that she could use against Meng Ting as her room for maneuver.

Meng Ting, having the misfortune of being abducted, tragically fell into Li Yifei's schemes. If his inherent nature was any less, one must wonder how he would turn out today.

The real Meng Ting had died eighteen years ago. The current Meng Ting was abducted by traffickers. Who was his real family? The further into the past, the longer it would take to investigate. The truth might have been lost forever, but being able to cut ties with the Mengs—this discovery was still worth it.

Meng Ting's actual age should be roughly eighteen years or more. He was born in January, but the exact date was still unknown.

As for the orphanage and those traffickers, Yan Sui's men would continue to pursue them. He was only worried that once the name of those pulling the strings were exposed, it would cause a lot of trouble. Regardless, it still had to be done.

Even if it was not for Meng Ting, having encountered this, Yan Sui would not turn a blind eye. Laying their hands on children, these people deserved to suffer from the wrath of Heaven.

Yan Sui continued reading the email, took a shower in the bathroom, then went to bed, placing Meng Ting in his arms, and slept until dawn.

Meng Ting woke up at that same time. However, in F Country, it was still late at night. Yan Sui wrapped his arm around him and kissed him on the cheek. "Sleep with me for a while."

"Okay," Meng Ting said, kissing Yan Sui on the corner of his mouth. Then, he closed his eyes and continued sleeping.

When he slept again, they woke up at eight o'clock the next morning.

"I'm hungry, very hungry…" Meng Ting looked at Yan Sui and even wanted a bite of him. He pressed Yan Sui's hand on his little tummy to prove that he was indeed very hungry and not because he was unwilling to continue to sleep with Yan Sui.

Yan Sui's hand on Meng Ting's tummy gently rubbed it. "How hungry?"

His voice was a little husky and also very arousing. Meng Ting felt a little itch in his ears.

"Extremely hungry." He replied truthfully.

Yan Sui smiled and grabbed him to sit up. "Get up, let's have breakfast, then go for a walk in town."

"Hmn," Meng Ting responded. All of a sudden, he remembered something, so he pulled Yan Sui by his neck and kissed him on the lips. "Good morning."

He was so hungry that he almost forgot their morning kiss.

And, the morning kiss that was originally made on the forehead, from this day on, became a kiss on the lips.

Yan Sui's eyes darkened a little, but he still released his hands to let Meng Ting run to the bathroom to wash up.

Originally, he was prepared to wait a year, but now that it was not necessary anymore, his frame of mind had become somewhat delicate.

In this village of F Country, there were not too many people. He led Meng Ting and took him to have a walk along a vintage road. He had done his homework quite well. Meng Ting's every question, he could answer. Of course, because Meng Ting really did not understand much, his questions were all very general.

"You're incredible. You know everything." Meng Ting was never stingy with his praise for others, even more so when it comes to Yan Sui. His eyes were glistening, staring at Yan Sui and Yan Sui's heart had heated up. He could not even be bothered to say anything modest.

He ruffled Meng Ting's hair, and in a corner that no one could see, he pressed him against the wall and gave him a deep kiss. This kind of intimacy could be addictive—a self-induced addiction.
