章 4: Fox
A sign was placed near the entrance, it said "Cute pets, Battle pets, and Monster pets."
Autumn looked at the sign then looked at the building itself, it looked like 2 story house but for pets.
'Hmmm...so people collect, tame, and sell monster offspring's now. In my 3 lifetimes monster offspring's we're treated as a disaster and people always killed them. As for me, I tamed a pretty cute wyvern in my second life.' he thought to himself while looking at her sister who was currently looking at the building with sparkling eyes.
She then grabbed Autumn and rushed inside while 2 royal guards followed them while the rest waited outside. There are 6 royal guards following them, 2 went inside to follow Jean and Autumn while the rest were outside.
Inside the store...
The inside was pretty big maybe around 150-175 square meters. There are 4 shelves at the entrance, on the left side shelf there is normal pet food for cats or dogs, on the right side, there is pet food for monster pets.
Metal cages and glass cases could be seen at the back of the store. There were dogs, cats, foxes, leopards, lion, and eagle species, kind of pets.
The store manager saw two kids rushed inside followed by two royal guards and he hurriedly followed behind them.
Jean looked around excitedly looking for a pet while Autumn was just staring at a single fox at the back of the shop. He suddenly broke free of her sister's grasp and suddenly disappeared and then reappeared at the little fox's cage.
The fox had pure white snow fur with 3 tails that had red color on the tip of its tails. He recognized this fox, it had a notorious nickname "Glacier Calamity Fox', it got this nickname because every footstep it makes a large glacier would appear and would never melt.
It was a grade SSS monster that wreaked havoc among the demon realm and the heavenly realm. Nobody could stop it until I hunted it down in my third life.
'Who would have thought I would see a baby calamity fox in this life,' Autumn then heard a roar in his soul and a jolt then struck his mind.
He suddenly smiled and shouted, "I will be taking this fox." Without any care, if someone responded or not he opened the glass case and grab the fox on its nape.
He then placed it on his shoulder and walked to the exit waiting for his sister.
As he walked away to the exit the royal guards paid 20 gold for the fox while his sister was still choosing a pet she wanted.
'The calamity fox said that if I tame this little fox, it can help me find stronger foes to hunt since it's nose is sensitive to danger.' Autumn mused to himself while looking at the sleeping fox on his shoulder.
He then poked the little guy on the nose and said "Hey little guy, I'm gonna call you Snow from now on."
The little fox lazily opened its eyes and looked at him then nodded and went back to sleep again.
Autumn smiled lightly at the cute fox he got. He then arrived at the exit and prepared to explore alone while his sister was still looking for a pet for herself.
He turned towards one of the royal guards and said "Hey, can I borrow 50 gold coins?"
The guard nodded and grabbed a punch of gold count in thin air and handed it to Autumn.
"Thanks." Autumn thanked the guard and proceeded to walk around while 2 royal guards followed him.
He walked around curiously and looked around with calm eyes. He saw so many foreign buildings that he never saw before, square buildings that reached heights of 30 to 50 meters, clothes, weapons, and armor he never saw existed in his 3 lifetimes.
It looked like a combination of medieval times and modern times except there is no electronics, phones, and other stuff.
In Autumn's first life he lived in the ancient era, in Autumn's second life he lived in a medieval era, and in his third life, he lived in an era where technology and magic were combined to slay monsters.
In the ancient era, the bodies of people there were comparable to grade F monsters and that is the civilians that are being used as an example. The hunter's on the other hand had grade E-D bodies.
In the medieval era, the bodies of hunters were in grade F while civilians had paper bodies that can be torn apart by monsters.
In the era of technology and magic, civilians' bodies were even weaker than in the medieval era civilians. If the medieval civilians were paper then the civilians of technological and magic were mud.
A single roar of a grade F monster was enough to kill a small county. But they had the advantage of using advanced weapons to kill grade F-D monsters.
From what Autumn can see, civilian have bodies comparable to pseudo grade F monsters. At least it was better than nothing, they can fight back against grade F monsters when needed to, or at least stall one for reinforcement to help them.
He then saw something interesting and suddenly dash to an alley. The royal guards hurriedly followed to the alley Autumn went into.
Autumn saw a bunch of people fighting and killing each other. He was curious as to what they are fighting for, then he saw something glisten and was surprised to find that it was pure monster blood. The blood was at the size of a fist and Autumn was sure that this blood has been purified to the extreme as this blood was enough to kill a hundred million people.
He was interested in this monster blood and decided to take it. He casually walks to the person who was holding the monster's blood and kicked him in the nuts.
The guy couldn't scream as he died instantly from the pain and dropped dead. Autumn then grabbed the container that holds the monster blood, he then walked away and never looked back.
