"Have you thought about what would happen to the two worlds if something terrible happens to you here?" Audrey interrupted sharply, her voice tinged with both concern and irritation.

"You and Kay got married the same night we left the Kingdom. What do you expect him to do if you get badly hurt or, worse, killed because you wanted to do a good deed for a friend?" Her words carried a biting edge, deliberately aimed to sting.

She had chosen to bring up Kayden, not herself or Anthony, hoping that Joanna would realize the gravity of her actions. Surely, Joanna wouldn't be so reckless once she grasped what was truly at stake.

"I know you think I should prioritize my safety above all else while on this mission," Joanna began, her tone steady but defensive.

"I'm also aware of how uneasy you feel and how much my recent injuries trouble you. But, Drey, trust me, I have always tried my best not to get hurt when facing an enemy."
