He maintained a clueless expression on his face, but inwardly, he was panicking like crazy.

He still smiled as if nothing was wrong. 

Caihong raised her brow. "Did you have dinner?"

He swiftly answered, wanting to avoid her. "Yeah. I had my dinner in the office!"

"Oh…well then, I will just go back to sleep without eating then," he shrugged.

Xiaosi widened his eyes. "Without eating? You didn't have dinner yet? It's one in the morning! What were you doing?"

"Waiting for you."

He stiffened.

"You cancelled the dinner date, so I thought we could at least eat together at home when you are back."

That struck his heart with guilt and pain. 

She was waiting for me…

Shit, I let her be hungry for so long! 

He dug his nails into his palm, furious at himself.
