"What are you doing here?" Maverick asked me as soon as he entered the room, and I shook my head before stepping down from the balcony railings.

"Just thinking," I smiled at him.

"I hope I am a part of it," he winked at me, sending those familiar butterflies into my heart. I sighed.

"Tomorrow is the alpha's meet. The alphas would start coming from today's evening itself. You will be quite busy. Why did you bring me here at this time?" I couldn't help but ask.

About to drink some water, Maverick placed the glass down and walked to me.

He sighed as if tired of something, his actions confusing me.

He placed my hand over his chest before looking at me as if I should be able to understand his words without him speaking.

"This heart feels happy at the thought of returning home to you," he said.

Heat crept up my neck at his words as the jittery feeling returned, much stronger than before.
