Chapter 70: The Power of the Heavenly Thunder

"Muli!"

At the dark stone door, more than a dozen shadows emerged from the darkness, revealing the leader's face—it was none other than Muli, the deputy leader of the Wolf Head Mercenary Group.

His gaze swept over the piles of glittering gold coins inside the chamber, and a flash of greed appeared in his eyes.

"Sorry, Little Fairy Doctor, but your assistant Liffy told me everything."

"How could she? You bribed her, you scoundrel!" The Little Fairy Doctor's eyes narrowed as she realized what had happened.

"Heh, it didn't take much. Just a few sweet words and she told me everything. But don't worry, soon enough, you'll be mine too." Muli chuckled confidently before turning his attention to Mo Yu.

"So, you're Mo Yu, huh? I heard you showed some impressive strength when you joined the mercenary group. What do you say? Why not join the Wolf Head Mercenary Group? When I take over from my father, I'll make you my right-hand man.

With the wealth from this cave, we'll be able to take over all the forces in Qing Shan Town and expand outward. Your status and power will be second only to mine. How does that sound?" Muli's words were filled with ambition as he imagined the future.

But all his grand plans were based on one assumption: that he had the strength to back them up.

Mo Yu smiled mockingly as he glanced at the badges on the mercenaries' chests. All of them were around four or five stars in strength, and Muli himself was only at the six-star level.

The only person in the Wolf Head Mercenary Group who posed any threat to Mo Yu was Muli's father, who was a two-star Dou Master. The rest were no match for him.

"Wolf Head Mercenary Group? You don't even have a Dou Grandmaster, and you think you can expand? Keep dreaming," Mo Yu scoffed.

In his past life, Mo Yu had founded his own faction, but only after he had the strength and support to do so. For a group like the Wolf Head Mercenaries, whose strongest member was only a two-star Dou Master, the idea of expanding was laughable.

"So, you're determined to oppose us? It's a shame, you have great talent, but it looks like I'll have to take you out," Muli said coldly, his eyes flashing with anger.

"Take him down! But be careful not to hurt the Little Fairy Doctor—she's mine!" Muli commanded, his voice dripping with malice.

"Yes, sir!" Three mercenaries immediately charged at Mo Yu and the Little Fairy Doctor, their eyes filled with murderous intent.

"Boom!"

Mo Yu's eyes narrowed as he saw them approach. With a smirk, he flicked his fingers, sending out several crimson lightning bolts that struck the charging mercenaries.

In this narrow, enclosed space, using a high-damage technique could bring the cave down on their heads. So Mo Yu opted for a more controlled approach, and within moments, the three mercenaries were knocked unconscious by the electric shocks.

Mo Yu's power had grown significantly after absorbing so many magic cores, and the Vermilion Bird's Heaven Flame Thunder had grown stronger as well. Ordinary mercenaries were no match for him.

Muli's confident expression faltered as he watched Mo Yu effortlessly defeat his men. He had clearly underestimated his opponent.

"Masi, you and the others, attack together!" Muli shouted, his voice filled with desperation.

Another large, muscular mercenary stepped forward, leading the remaining ten men in an all-out assault on Mo Yu.

"Mo Yu, be careful!" The Little Fairy Doctor called out, worried for him despite his earlier display of power.

Mo Yu turned and gave her a reassuring smile, his eyes as calm and deep as a bottomless abyss.

In the dimly lit cave, as the mercenaries charged, a crimson thunderbolt suddenly appeared in Mo Yu's hand.

The Vermilion Bird's Heaven Flame Thunder crackled with electricity, its red glow illuminating the cave. The mercenaries felt a sudden heat on their skin before a paralyzing jolt surged through them. With a crackling sound, the red lightning coursed through their bodies, leaving them twitching and smoking on the ground.

The smell of burnt flesh filled the cave as the mercenaries fell one by one.

Muli, watching this scene unfold, was terrified. The smug look on his face was replaced with sheer horror as he realized he was outmatched.

The Little Fairy Doctor was equally shocked. She covered her mouth with her hands, her eyes wide as she stared at Mo Yu. Her heart pounded in her chest as she processed what she had just witnessed.

The mercenaries, who had been so full of bloodlust moments ago, had been defeated in an instant. And it was this seemingly harmless, handsome young man who had done it.

"Well, Muli, are you going to handle this yourself?" Mo Yu asked, a hint of amusement in his voice as he retracted the Vermilion Bird's Heaven Flame Thunder.

"Mo Yu, Brother Mo, Master Mo, I beg you, please spare me!" Muli's arrogance vanished as he crawled over to Mo Yu, pleading for his life.

Taking out over ten experienced mercenaries in the blink of an eye was something only Muli's father could do. And Muli was no match for him.

Seeing Muli groveling, the Little Fairy Doctor couldn't help but laugh. This man, who had always pestered her and deceived her maid, was now reduced to this pitiful state.

Hearing her laughter, Mo Yu turned to see the usually gentle and elegant Little Fairy Doctor laughing openly. He smiled, finding her behavior amusing.

When she noticed Mo Yu looking at her, the Little Fairy Doctor blushed and lowered her head in embarrassment.

"What should we do with him?" Mo Yu asked, giving her the choice.

"Me?" The Little Fairy Doctor was surprised. She pointed at herself in disbelief.

"Is there anyone else here? Oh, right, he doesn't count," Mo Yu said, nodding toward Muli.

The Little Fairy Doctor giggled at the thought of Muli not even being considered a person.

Muli's face darkened, but he saw a chance to plead his case. He quickly turned to the Little Fairy Doctor. "Please, spare me! I promise I'll never bother you again if you let me go."

After a moment of hesitation, the Little Fairy Doctor's kind heart won out. She turned to Mo Yu and said, "Let him go. Once you leave Qing Shan Town, the Wolf Head Mercenary Group shouldn't bother you anymore. And I have some influence in the town, so even if we let him go, they won't dare come after me."

Mo Yu nodded and looked at Muli coldly. "Fine, but you won't get away unscathed."

With that, he flicked his finger, sending a burst of energy into Muli's knee, crippling him.

As Muli screamed in pain, Mo Yu and the Little Fairy Doctor left the cave, having collected all the valuables. Muli, now crippled, was left to fend for himself.
