Those projectiles of the Kingdom of Metatrin were explicitly crafted to take on good creatures. There was all manner of poisons on them that would critically injure the enemy even if they did not manage to kill them outright. Furthermore, it was far more challenging to deal with such injuries than to simply resurrect a dead god creature.

Saleen had also gained control of Alchemy City in secret, and mages from Alchemy City rushed to their side in droves. Being able to fight god creatures was an opportunity like no other for mages.
