50% AWAKENIN OF HULK / Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Echoes of Green Fury

章 2: Chapter 2: Echoes of Green Fury

In the dim light of the abandoned warehouse, Bruce Banner's labored breaths mingled with the distant sounds of traffic outside. Sweat trickled down his forehead as he strained against the beast that lurked within him. The tranquilizers he'd injected earlier were losing their grip, and he could feel the transformation clawing at the edges of his control.

"I won't let you take over," Bruce growled through gritted teeth, his voice wavering between determination and desperation. He clung to the memory of Betty's smile, the warmth of her touch. She was the anchor that kept him from fully succumbing to the rage.

But the echo of a mocking laugh filled his mind, an auditory hallucination that chilled him to the core. "You can't fight me forever, Banner. One day, you'll snap, and I'll be free once more."

It was the voice of the Hulk, a twisted embodiment of Bruce's anger and frustration. It had haunted him since that fateful gamma radiation experiment gone wrong, an experiment that had birthed the monster within him.

As his muscles twitched and his bones groaned, Bruce's fingers fumbled with the vials on the lab table. He needed the antidote, the concoction he had painstakingly developed over the years to suppress the Hulk's emergence. The glass vial slipped from his grasp, crashing to the floor in a cacophony of shattering glass.

"No!" Bruce's heart pounded as he watched the green liquid spread across the concrete, wasted. Panic clawed at the edges of his consciousness.

But then a shadow moved in the corner of the room, and a figure emerged from the darkness. It was Betty Ross, her eyes wide with concern. "Bruce, I heard a noise. Are you alright?"

The sight of Betty seemed to slow the Hulk's advance, as if the beast recognized her as well. Bruce's muscles quivered as he forced the words out. "Betty, you need to run. It's not safe here."

Betty's gaze flickered between Bruce's tormented form and the spilled vial. Understanding dawned in her eyes. "No, Bruce. We're going to do this together. You're not alone in this fight."

With a strength born of desperation, Bruce pushed back against the tide of rage threatening to consume him. He reached for the remaining vial, his fingers trembling as he gripped it. As he raised the vial to his lips, Betty's voice joined his own. "I love you, Bruce. Remember that."

The potion burned as it slid down his throat, a bitter reminder of the war he waged within himself. Slowly, the green hue that had begun to suffuse his skin receded, and his muscles relaxed. The Hulk's laughter faded, replaced by the sound of his own labored breathing.

Bruce sank to his knees, his forehead resting against Betty's as tears of relief filled his eyes. "Thank you," he whispered.

Betty's arms wrapped around him in a fierce embrace. "We'll face this together, Bruce. No matter what."

As the distant sounds of sirens drew nearer, Bruce held onto Betty, grateful for her unwavering support. The battle against the Hulk was far from over, but with Betty by his side, he knew he had a chance to keep the beast at bay.

And as the warehouse filled with the flashing lights of approaching police cars, Bruce Banner found solace in the hope that he could continue to master the fury that raged within him, one day at a time.
