If someone were to ask Grayson Carter what his favorite memory was he would obfuscate, unable to give a clear answer. Obviously, there were things he enjoyed in his daily life, things that made him happy.
He loved the ocean, had good memories walking down the coast with only his thoughts. He enjoyed the sound of his car roaring back to life after a cold night, always reliable when he needed it. There was so much in the life he had created that was well suited for him. That was why he lived this way, after all.
However, recently, his life had been flipped on its head. Some days he woke up terrified of the next wave that would come crashing down all around him. The rest of the days, though, he woke up with dozens of memories playing behind his eyelids, each more dazzling than the one before it.
The truth was, he didn't have an answer. He didn't know how to formulate one when every moment he spent with Jude made him feel more alive than the moment before.
