Marcella kept her eyes shut for a brief moment, then gradually reopened them to a shocking sight: two metal pipes were thrust through Kaiyan's chest, blood oozing from his mouth. The old man's labored coughs filled the air, punctuating the surreal moment. 

Marcella's gaze flickered to the spot where the lightning bolt should have struck, but instead, she found a scorched patch of ground between herself and Sarah. Astonishingly, Sarah stood unharmed, her hand raised, and an intense determination in her eyes.

"Sarah..." Marcella whispered in disbelief, her voice barely audible over the turmoil.

With a sudden clench of her fists, Sarah's power became evident. The metal pipes embedded in Kaiyan's chest wavered, then flew free, landing firmly in Sarah's grasp. Marcella's surprise deepened as she watched Sarah rise to her feet, the metal pipes an extension of her newfound strength.
