章 36: Ch 36: Everyone wants to be a friend

Lisa followed her mother out of the boss's room. Her mother had a weird look on her face that worried Lisa.

But before she could say anything, her mother spoke up first.

"Lisa, I felt this before, but now I am sure! The boss does not like you romantically! Rather, he wants something else from you. Do you know what that means?"

Venissa Grace's gleeful eyes looked at Lisa with a madness she had not seen in her mother before.

Lisa wanted to step back but was only met with a wall that halted her progress.

"My dear daughter, do you know what the boss could want from you? If we know what you possess, we can leverage it and go even higher on the social ladder. You need to tell me what it is!"

Her mother clutched Lisa's shoulder in a tight grip. The madness in her eyes took Lisa aback.

She opened her mouth, but her mind felt blank. She could not think of anything she possessed that would make the boss interested in her.
