An New Beginning

A rouge group Avali, after having successfully escaping the Illuminate and stealing tech that even they can't fully understand, come across a derelict ship. After having explored the ship and collected a variety of artifacts, makes a big mistake, and accidentally activates the ships Anti-boarding defenses whilst looking through its databanks they flee and as they escape their ship is damaged causing them to disappear, their fate is probably better than what would have been if they stayed. Right?
