The mattress dipped on the bed as Lord Thorn took a seat at the edge to remove his boots. He was tired and ready to bathe. The odor of sulfur and brimstone mixed with his sweat made him smell bad. He felt the grime cling to his skin, making him itchy all over.
Rose observed as Chris adeptly unlaced his leather boots and removed them. She positioned herself to sit behind him on the bed. Rose wanted to take a peek at his back and gauge how severely he was wounded.
"What are you doing?" he asked before Rose's hand could lift the tunic he wore.

As promised, I will reveal a bit of good news. I have been in the planning stages for over a year to write a second novel. It will be a fantasy romance. Here is the synopsis. Please tell me if you think this would be our next great adventure story. All opinions are appreciated,
An eastern kingdom has been living under a veil of fear. The reason is the Winter Dragon.
It’s Solstice, the harshest and darkest night of Winter. Knights of every order in the eastern kingdoms have gathered together on a quest to destroy the dragon.
A figure of a massive knight lies fallen in blood-stained snow. His life replays before his eyes as he reflects on how his choices ended up like this. The Knights of his order are on bended knee around him in prayer.
Konstantin, a knight from the Volch’ya Staya, is the greatest warrior of all the orders. He battles a beast reigning terror across the lands and his inner demons while dealing with a passionate love for two women.
