But the moment Ryan put his hand on my shoulder, I felt the color in my face drain. My heart raced, and for a second, I felt like that little girl who was in her room, waiting for when he was going to come and pour water on my head simply because he could.

"I see the two of you going out on dates, playing the game of lovers, and yet, she is not even your wife yet. I doubt that we signed up to leaving her with you without a title? I can be wrong, but as far as I knew, she was to be your wife. What is she now? What is she doing here…?"

"She is my fiancé," Vladimir said, getting up from his chair as he glared at the man. "And unless you want to lose that hand of yours, I will recommend that you remove it from her shoulder. Trust me, you are not going to want to deal with my anger."
