章 12: Meanwhile- Finding a wife for Beta Sage.

Mark got splattered with the creature's blood. So he had to go home and wash it off, and Serena needed to talk to him about something, so they went together.

Serena was the first to use the washroom and dress her wounds, which she had been able to conceal behind her clothes after they arrived.

Mark got hurt on the face, although not as bad as she had on her stomach and back.

They were caught off guard by Judith's unexpected return from work.

Luckily for them, their werewolf genes were able to heal most of the wounds, especially the one on their faces and arms.

Serena screamed at the top of her lungs to alert Mark that Judith had returned home.

That must've infuriated her even more because she suspected they were both having an affair.

On the other hand, Mark had overheard them conversing below.

He could hear all they were saying to each other because werewolves could overhear any sound from a distance.

Mark had heard Serena escalating the situation. He knew his wife was already suspicious, and Serena made the situation much more difficult by yelling at the top of her lungs.

He forgot to wipe the blood spots and place the bloody clothes in a poly bag like he always did.

He left them on the floor.

As he rushed down the stairwells, he realized it was a horrible idea to leave the washroom in such a state, so he dashed upstairs.

He, like Serena, contributed to Judith's increased suspicion of them.

When Serena later informed Judith that she and her fiancé had called off their wedding because She was always busy looking after and protecting her, she meant that.

It saddened her to witness the powerful Alpha sobbing in agony because she suspected her husband of having an affair.

Serena and her wolf couldn't tolerate watching her make a fool of herself- it was irritating.

If she regained her memories and freed her wolf, she knew Judith would curse everyone who had watched her transform into a human— not that they had any voice in the matter.

It took them a long time to recognize she got reincarnated without any trace of Ezer.

Everyone had thought Ezer died during the war.

They tried calling her Ezer to see if her wolf was nearby and would respond, but all she did was wonder why they called her that even though they already knew her name was Judith.

Mark had awoken several times, wanting to tell her who they were. However, he also got worried that she would be shocked.

The human mind was delicate; exposed to the magical realm and its mythical creatures, Judith most likely would go insane if they revealed themselves to her without her wolf.

Serena and he both became frightened when Judith informed them about being followed.

They stood there watching as she took the pictures out of her bag and handed them to him to look at, but before she could go away, he painfully grabbed her arm and said, clenching his teeth, "Don't ever make that mistake." Do you understand what I'm saying? "Call him off now."

Judith didn't realize it was his wolf in charge at the time, but she did notice his eyes flashing a strange color.

The handsome features she had grown fond of had taken on a darker and more sinister appearance.

When they were kids, he would change the color of his eyes whenever he became furious, but his father explained to her that it was because his contact lens had come out or shifted from its original place.

She had seen some contact lenses in the bedroom while they were living together, but had she witnessed him in the act while he was wearing them?

No.

That outburst had horrified her, and Mark let go of her hand when he saw her panicked expression.

Meanwhile, Mark's father, the former Alpha, was on the lookout for a wife for Sage.

Sage had not found his mate from where they had come, and he had no intention of doing so in the future.

As a result, their old man took it upon himself to find Sage a better mate.

Sage, on the other hand, was still determined to find her, and whoever she was, he would claim her when he did. But was he, however, on the lookout for her?

"No." When the older man asked Sage to start hunting for her if he wasn't going to mate with just any female werewolf, Sage's answer irritated him even more.

"I'll email you some images. I chose them personally, so pick one and go on dates with them. However you young people do it now. Derick, the old man's wolf, remarked, "I hope the next time I see you in this office, you're sitting there with your mate."

He didn't leave room for a counter- argument.

Sage noticed the fierce look he gave him while keeping his attention fixed on him. When he dared them to challenge him, he typically couldn't do that.

The cool air brushed against Sage's skin. His eyes were watery and swollen. Not because he wanted to cry but because he had been staring coldly at the old guy for a long time.

It would be impossible for him to mate with a werewolf from the future, and it would be unjust to take her with him without her agreement.

And if there were any offspring, they'd have to go with them. Nobody knew what was happening in their original home- if there was a place to even call home.
