Jordy seemed to have read her mind and said expressionlessly, "Leave this matter to me."
Gloria looked at him, somewhat surprised. Without saying anything, she seemed to wait for him to continue.
Jordy had calmed down. "Angela had been involved with the guy who's supporting her. Now they've started taking action. You just need to live a normal life and you can count on me to take care of the other things."
Gloria squinted. "Treating you and Grandma does me so much good, huh?"
Jordy's face darkened again.
Gloria took no heed of it and smiled. "You don't have to. I can handle all by myself."
"Gloria White," Jordy shouted out her name with repressed anger.
Gloria looked up lazily. "Yes, things are complicated. But I hope you can give me some privacy. We're adults and have our own considerations. Jordy Collins, I promised you I would protect myself well, and no one could harm me."
