General POV
"Jill?! What are you doing here?!" Yes everyone, its Kendo! You know, the dude who owns the gun store and also looking all depressed the last time we saw him. I can't expect anyone to remember him though, he's quite the minor character. But not so much in this novel! "I could ask the same of you!" Jill walked nearer to him and stood eye to eye.
"Shouldn't I be introduced?" Mikhail scowled in the back at being left out, a trace of confusion passed his eyes, seemingly annoyed at not knowing what just transpired between those two. "Right! Kendo, meet Mikhail. Mikhail, meet Kendo," Mikhail went forward and shook Kendo's hand out of politeness and retreated back into his wary state.
"Back to my previous question, why are you here?" Jill cocked an eyebrow and lifted her head up, looking onto him with suspicion. "A little birdie told me of a possible vaccine in here! I really must thank him!" Kendo made a content expression with the thought of returning the favor onto the man whom told him of this hospital.
"A little birdie? No! Is that what Calian whispered to you about?!" Jill came to a direct realization that took her back to a couple dozen minutes ago when she last met kendo in his gun store and that awfully doubtful whispering. "You caught onto that quick! Well, spilled beans are indeed spilled, yes he told me about it."
Jill showed a little shock at Calian having told Kendo about it. 'How did Calian know for sure of a vaccine here? This is weird...' she thought in her hear as she silently nodded a few times. "You said you'd thank him, does that mean you've located the vaccine!" Jill said excitedly and it took all her will power to not jump in joy.
"About that... It's behind this door," Jill instantly became aware of Kendo's subtle pause of resignation, what may be the problem here? "And what's it about the door," Jill went an pushed the door albeit not working in her favor and she shoved harder with both hands, still won't budge. "It's locked from the inside."
"Locked huh, no worries. Could you back off for a second, it'd be wise to find cover," Jill smirked and Kendo walked off behind Jill, staring at her without any idea of what she would be doing. Man, I thought the 'find cover' would be obvious enough, the door's gonna blow! Jill raised her MGL to hip level and pushed the trigger.
BOOM! The explosive round made contact in less than a second, blowing the door into flames but wait a minute! Is the door unscathed?! "Who f*cking did that! You! I told you, you weren't going to pass through to get my goodies! You think measly bits of explosives could possibly tear down a Customized Umbrella Door! Not even rockets could get pass and that's saying something you imbecile!"
"Who's that!" Mikhail raised his gun a tad bit higher as Jill looked towards where the voice came from. A small speaker next to the door with some lights and a button it, that must be the method of communication between the 'someone' inside and anyone outside. "That is the doctor housing the vaccine which sadly he won't be giving up any time soon."
Kendo rubbed his face in exhaustion, it seemed like he had been arguing with the man behind the door for quite some time. "Hello, could you perhaps introduce yourself," Jill said as gently as she could even if the sentence that came out doesn't really enter the 'gentle' type but its certainly much more polite than the doctor.
"Finally! Someone that actually knows manners! Now where am I, my name is Dr. Nathaniel Bard! Yes! THE Nathaniel Bard, award winning genetic researcher and prized scientist of these states! I'm worth much more than any nosy corrupt flimsy weak handed doctor the world has ever seen!" The doctor sounded very arrogant, no, not sounded, he IS arrogant.
"Ehm, is this the Nathaniel Bard we're looking for, he seems... unique," that's a high euphemism even for you Jill, I guess it's ok to put such a high minimization on the doctor's caracters if it could save the life of Calian. "He's got a... high esteem and that's putting it lightly. He won a few Nobel prizes and if there's any Umbrella researcher out there whom are smarter than him in terms of genetics, I'll shoot myself!"
"Not even the inventor of the T-virus could hold a candle in front of him. It's just that, Umbrella knows that he will never agree in the research of making biological weapons and finally dumped him into the hell-hole known as vaccine research and development with absolutely no yields since Umbrella was founded."
"The moment he was assigned to work there, in a span of a few weeks, a vaccine was successfully developed by him alone without any help from his fellow colleagues despite being a new addition to the team. Out of all Umbrella researchers, he's the most ethical and entirely clean, no corruption and not evil in anyway. He entirely deserves his haughty temper."
That's a very impressive track record, even me, the omniscient narrator is dazzled by this. "Seriously?! I'd never thought I'd say this, but damn that's f*cking accomplished!" Jill is impressed, Kendo is impressed and even the story teller, Mikhail is impressed. "I thought the guy was a cowardly pushover," Kendo muttered.
"Let's try this again shall we. This is Jill Valentine, S.T.A.R.S. We also have U.B.C.S platoon leader Mikhail Victor, we're here to evacuate you and for the vaccine!" Jill pressed the button below the speaker and spoke out to him expecting a reply and an open door. Jill still can't believe that the doors are explosive resistant and there's hardly any scratch left from the intitial blast.
"What! Umbrella! NO! NO! AND NO! Umbrella is insane! They're killing all the researchers!"
