Crynn POV
"Follow my actions," I stepped in front of the fireplace and even though I knew that it was a transportation device, I'm still a little bit skeptical. "Grab the floo powder," I gripped a handful of it as I slowly went inside the fireplace. "And finally yell out, Ministry of Magic!" I threw the powder into the air as it rained down not anymore solid but a full energized green fire.
"Whooh!" That is nothing like apparition! No suctions, the flames aren't even hot. All I know is that the green fire around me has disappeared and I nervously walked out. Different from the stone and bricks fireplace, this fireplace is very modernized with clear black tiles all around the walls. As I walked out, I knew exactly where I am now standing.
On the sides of the fireplaces are golden decorations, carefully carved. I guess its time to welcome myself into the Ministry of Magic. Not very crowded nor bustling today is it, I remember seeing in the movie that the floo entrance are very cramped with a huge number of visitors or employees. Not everyday's full.
"I'm so glad you've made it, welcome to the Atrium," I saw green flames spit from a nearby fireplace and Aria came stumbling and fearfully. "Out of all the media for teleportation, they choose a fireplace," she complained and wiped the ashes from her coat. "Well, come on, let's go check this place out," I looked back and saw that the Atrium spanned miles way back.
We're lucky to have came out relatively near to the main entrance. "This is exactly what I envisioned this place to be!" I gasped out in awe once standing before the giant golden gates, in front of me the entire Ministry of Magic opened to my eyes! A giant golden statue in the far side and a fountain with different characters show just how grand this entire place is!
Whoa! Aria exclaimed next to me, anyone would be similarly surprised. On the walls, very high walls, at least 7 stories high is a lot of offices overlooking the lobby stacked on top of each other, 7 total levels for 7 different departments, damn the place is grand. "How long do you think they used to build this place?" Aria whispered in wonder.
"I don't know, it's founded in 1707. But knowing the wizards, it probably didn't take too long to build this up," I answered while still looking around the vast scenery. God! This entire facility must've been longer than the distance between Westminster Abbey and Trafalgar Square! Mind the entirety of this is built underneath Whitehall and probably underneath a fraction of London!
Well, the security stand that was supposed to be somewhere here, isn't actually here. Maybe off duty? We'll gladly take advantage of that. "Let's go, our destination today is the Department of Mysteries which is a very secretive place in the Ministry, it's located a floor below this one," I said to Aria as we walked and looked around.
Yeah, I remember this, The Fountain of Magical Brethren. A witch, a house elf, a goblin and a centaur, they say it portrays the love between intelligent magical creatures but Dumbledore thought otherwise and so do I. "And how do we get down?" Aria questioned. "There should be elevators around, just need to find it."
"Sir! Please stop!" I decided to simply just ask someone for their help, we do not need to search mindlessly. "Um... yes?" The wizard I called upon awkwardly said as I came upon his appearance. Messy brownish red hair, standing about 6 feet tall, lean muscular, wearing a long blue coat and a buttoned long sleeve shirt and a tie, he's also holding a common brown briefcase, rather handsome I think.
I took him for a second and found him extremely familiar! But no matter, business at hand. "We're new around her and we're looking for the lift," I said confidently as the man shifted a bit. "Ehm... Yeah. Err... Just over the corner there, right in front of Merlin's statue," oh! So that's actually a statue of Merlin, cool.
"Thank you but wait a second, you look awfully familiar, like I could almost guess your identity," ok, I couldn't hold back my curiosity and directly asked the man. He continued fidgeting and opened his mouth to speak and, "Eh... my name is Newt Scamander. Perhaps you've seen me in the news?" Jolly! Now I know why he's so familiar!
Red brown hair! A bit awkward! This is Newt Scamander and of course! That's his zoo briefcase! "You mean you're Newt Scamander! Oh! I'm a big fan of yours! Can we talk for a second!" I gripped his hand enthusiastically as I glanced up and down at one of my favorite characters in the Wizarding World!
"Um... thank you but I'm in a hurry," he pulled his hand out and tried to go away but in the end, stopped because of a sentence of mine! You see, in between Newt Scamander saying thank you and I held his hand, I swiftly opened the bonus objectives panel. In the bottom of the sixth bonus objective, I found a newly appeared timer.
67/2592000, since a day is 86400 seconds, and so 30 days is 2592000 seconds! Just by being near Newt Scamander for a month, the bonus objective will be complete! I must reel him in! And well, I've thought of a plan in just 5 seconds, I always think well in crampy situations. And so, my mouth opened automatically and displayed this incredible awesome deal!
"What if I say that I have a way to get you back your international travel rights!" I basically almost shouted as Newt is walking quicker and quicker by every footstep! And cease, Newt Scamander has fully froze, one foot back and another and turn. Newt kept his head down and strolled to me and urgently said, "Pardon?!"
Newt Scamander. Done tempted.
