Julia rushed over in a panic. As she saw two goons with knives approaching Nicholas, her hair sprang up on her nape. She grabbed Nicholas' hand before the man could reach him, but she was slashed in the arm.

"Um…" She whimpered.

Adrenaline rushed through her veins. She couldn't possibly give in to these people and endanger Nicholas' life. She fled, pulling him along as there was no time to get into the car and drive away.

"Hey, stop…" They chased her down.

Julia ran, hiding behind the cars. She looked for her phone.

"Shit…" She had dropped her bag beside the car.

"Mommy…"

"Shh…" Julia shushed him and drew him behind a car. "Make no noise, baby." She craned her neck, peered at them, and saw them split apart.
