章 51: Welcome

My whole body went numb, and my legs couldn't hold me up any longer. Brent cradled me in his arms, not letting my feet touch the ground. My tears erupted uncontrollably as the realization of what had just happened consumed me.

What did I just do? How was that possible? What kind of creature am I? I felt like a monster suddenly.

My thoughts filled me with so many emotions attached to them. Is this who I was? Is this what they were hiding from me? No wonder no one told me anything about this side of who I was. My body felt limp as I leaned my head into Brent’s shoulder.

“I am so proud of you, Su.” He whispered, placing a kiss on the top of my head. I inhaled his soothing scent and closed my eyes. Nothing else at that moment mattered. The world could crumble around us, and I would be ok. Had it not been for him, I would feel so lost.
