[Main Quest] Chapter 1: Entrance Exam

The entrance exam of Cradle will take place in 2 days.

Cradle.

Although its name was Cradle, its prestige was unmatched worldwide.

The school boasted excellent instructors and facilities, which other countries also had.

However, it possessed something more.

The Tower of Trials.

A tower that presented trials and awarded rewards based on performance.

And this entrance exam was predicated on the trials set by the Tower of Trials, rewarding students based on their performance.

My goal was to secure my admission as the top student, and I was determined to do just that.

Luckily, I had ample time to prepare for the entrance exam.

I had enough time to prepare for all possibilities, making it manageable.

The Tower of Trials is fair and unbiased.

The Tower of Trials wouldn't assign an S-class monster to an E-class Hero.

It would only give out something that is within the challenger's capabilities

The monsters that appeared here were all tailored to the level of the users, yet they were difficult to deal with.

For those who have mastered fire elements, it would send water-type monsters or those with strong resistance to fire.

For warriors who used weapons like swords, it sent monsters armored in protective gear.

In other words, most students taking the exam will likely end up severely injured or risk their lives in battle.

Anyway, for this reason, the exam typically couldn't be finished in a short period.

But that is not to say it was impossible,there were some ways.

One of those ways was the reason why I had chosen [Child of Swords(S)].

Setting my foot outside of the hotel, I felt a nice breeze pass by me.

"Fuu... how refreshing."

Stretching my arms I headed towards the warp station.

Right now, my first priority was getting the sword art named [Radiant Edge].

In order for me to find [Radiant Edge] ,I must head towards the dungeon called the ruins of Elyria.

Using the warp gate I reached the outskirts of Dusklocke city, the city i was currently in, which was also known as the capital of humanity.

The world in [Cradle's Reverie] used to be similar to the earth until an event called the 'Collision' occurred. In 2030, various worlds and realms collided together on earth, resulting in the planet becoming a collection of various parts from different worlds.

Before earth was a vast body of water with separate continents scattered across it, including Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Antarctica, and Australia. But after the 'Collision', all continents merged into one, creating a single large continent.

This brought things such as gods,demons,mana to the earth, leading to the evolution of the flora and fauna present on earth.

Along with this rifts started appearing randomly throughout the world. These rifts also known as dungeons are pockets of the other worlds which were fragmented, that are connected to the human world through rifts. They generally contain a horde of monsters, which are led by a boss, and remain open until the boss is killed. Once the boss is killed, the dungeon will stay open for about an hour before closing on its own.

In these dungeons people are able to find artifacts that hold great power or other magical items. But a dungeon must be cleared within fifteen days. If it is not, then it will undergo what is called a "dungeon break", meaning that the monsters inside the dungeon will be able to cross over to the human world and attack the civilian population.

The threat level of a gate is categorized by the standard E-S ranking system which is calculated with magic sensors. As a result, E-Rank gates are considered very low-risk, while S-Rank gates put entire countries in a state of emergency.

This led to territory occupied by humanity to become smaller until the power balance stabilized at a ratio of 5/7 humans and 2/7 demons and monsters.

Humanity occupied the east side of the new continent where Asia used to be with Dusklocke city as its capital.

As I walked out of the portal , I could see huge mountains in the distance.

Standing below the huge mountains I breathed in the fresh air .

With renewed vigor, I start my climb up the mountain.

"Huff....Huff.. "

Three hours had passed since I began climbing and although my breathing was rough, I wasn't that tired due to the me using mana to strengthen my body.

Right now I was making my way to the fourth highest peak, where a small cave containing the dungeon resided.

One hour had passed and I finally found the small gap on the side of the mountain.

I looked inside the small gap where only one person could fit.Inside of it I saw a blue portal was swirling at a distance.

"Bingo"

Smiling widely, I slowly pushed my body inside the small gap. As I entered the small hole, I crawled my way forward for a couple of meters until a wide opening appeared before me.

Increasing my pace, I entered the cave.

As soon as I entered the cave, I sat down, taking out a bottle of water from my bag and drinking it entirely.

After resting for a couple of minutes, I stood up and started walking towards the portal.

"It's time to upgrade myself...."

Taking a deep breath I walked forward and entered the portal.

As I passed through the portal I felt an incredible nausea, making me almost throw up.

After a few seconds, I looked around and saw the ancient ruin of a city shrouded in darkness.The crumbling stones ancient structures lay bathed in the soft, lunar light that seeped through the veil of night, casting an eerie glow over the forgotten city.
