章 49: Chapter 49. New Gear
I awoke in a white unfamiliar room, as I look around I saw Winter napping in a chair next to me. I move to get out of the bed I'm in and I suddenly felt jolts of pain wrack across my body making me wince. Winter stirred from her chair and lightly rub her eyes then looked towards me. Winter looked relieved and said.
Winter: It's good to see that you are awake now. Are you in any pain? The doctor says your lucky to be alive right now.
I ignore the pain and focus my magic to heal up my injuries. I found that most of my recent injuries are from frostbite along with some fractures, I can understand the frostbite but how did I get fractures? Once I healed up I asked Winter.
Silva: How long have I been out cold? Why do I have fractured bones and when did I get here? Oh, and are you alright Winter?
Winter cleared her throat and answered.
Winter: First you have been unconscious for 3 days to answer your first question. The answer to your second one is that once I woke up I noticed you being in bad shape so I called for an airship to pick us up. Then we were attacked by bandits on our way back to Atlas which resulted in the airship crashing adding to your injuries. After dealing with the bandits we continued heading back to Atlas. And to answer your last question I'm fine, thank you for asking.
Throughout Winter's explanation, I noticed that she avoids looking me in the eyes. Feeling suspicious I peeked at her mind and found out that...
Silva: YOU KICKED ME OUT OF YOUR TENT WHEN YOU WOKE UP AND LEFT ME OUTSIDE FOR AN HOUR!!!
Winter jumped in surprise at my outburst and looked at me with a slight blush to her cheeks, then asked.
Winter: How did you know?
She was keeping a neutral expression on her face, waiting for my answer. I decided to use my " copying" semblance excuse to hid my magic.
Silva: My semblance is to copy other semblances if I understand how they work and I just used a mind-reading semblance on you because I found your behavior suspicious.
Winter looked at me wide-eyed and then bellowed angrily.
Winter: YOU PEEKED AT MY THOUGHT WITH YOUR SEMBLANCE!!! HOW DARE YOU, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA AT HOW WRONG THAT IS!!!
Me and my big mouth, I cleaned out my ears and replied honestly in a calm tone.
Silva: I am aware that poking around someone's head ethically wrong but I still do it when I feel the need to and will continue to do so because there are very few people I trust aside from my girlfriends.
Winter looked at me furiously then took a deep breath calming herself and asked.
Winter: Putting that aside can you tell me what happened to the Grimm we were fighting against?
I told her bluntly.
Silva: With you falling into the lake without any aura I had to end the fight quickly so I did just that then dived in after you.
To show her proof I summoned the Fenrir in a smaller version in my hands as proof. She sighed at the sight but didn't comment any more on the matter. She looked at me sternly and said.
Winter: Thank you for saving my life and goodbye.
Just as she was about to turn around and leave I grabbed her hand. She looked at me with an arched eyebrow and I asked.
Silva: Can you wait a moment?
She nodded and as I continue to hold her hands I started to use the last of my magic today to transfer the Fenrir to her. She looked confused as to what I was doing and I told her.
Silva: There, I transferred the summon to you.
She blinked a few times trying to process what I just said and asked.
Winter: What? How?
I repeated myself more clearly.
Silva: I used my semblance to copy another semblance to transfer to you the Fenrir I defeated as you have more of a use for it than me.
Winter held out her hand and summoned the Fenrir much to her surprise. She looked at me then said.
Winter: Thank you and I am sorry for kicking you out into the cold after you just saved me.
Winter examined her new summon for a few moments then said.
Winter: I can't accept this, I don't deserve it.
I sighed and told her.
Silva: You can and will accept this because I'm not taking it back and to not use it while having it is the height of foolishness and you are no fool. So shut up and accept my goodwill.
Winter looked at me stunned with what I just said to her. Just as she was about to say something the door to my hospital room open revealing Rory and she said.
Rory: It's good to see that you are awake dear and specialist Schnee can you leave us I like a few words with him in private.
Winter gave her a quick salute and replied.
Winter: Yes, specialist general Eis.
Winter left me and Rory alone in the room closing the door behind her. Rory had a light smile on her face and I coldly asked.
Silva: Can I help you Ms.Eis?
Her response was.
Rory: Oh, come now there is no need to be so cold dear.
While she says that I still feel peeved at her for insulting Pyrrha so I told her.
Silva: If there is nothing you need from me I ask that you leave so that I can get dressed.
I grabbed her shoulders and pushed her out of my hospital room then closed the door in front of her. She put her foot in the door and said.
Rory: There something I like to discuss with you.
I looked at her and waited for her to continue with my arms crossed.
Rory: I would like to invite you to a gala that my family is hosting.
Hearing her invitation, I said.
Silva: No thank you.
I slammed the door in front of her, the gala would be filled with bigots and people with more money than sense so no thanks. I found my blue jade ring laying on a table nearby and took out some clothes. My new outfit is a light blue shirt with a gray jacket on with patches of white on it and black pants with dark gray boots. I took out my scroll to see today's date and it's still a couple of days still until I meet up with Qrow for the bandit subjugation which isn't enough time for me to comb through my combat data to find the best weapon for me.
However, there is just enough time to work on the backup weapons I was planning on constructing if I rush it a bit. I head out of my room to get discharged and find Rory waiting for me outside, I pass by her without acknowledging her existence. After threatening and/or persuading the doctor to let me leave I make my way down to Mantle to get to work on my backup weapons.
( Days later)
I was waiting in front of a bar waiting for Qrow to show up, why am I not surprised. Sighing, I examine my back up weapons to pass the time. First, a double-barrel handgun that I based off of Devil May Cry's Nero's Blue Rose but unlike the revolver that only allowed for 3 shots before needing to be reloaded this bad boy was a more modern style of gunsmithing. It was like any other handgun except having for having 2 barrels that fired 2 bullets almost simultaneously the magazine was fed on the left side that allowed for it to be reloaded faster but also makes it able to fire 7 shots for a total of 14 bullets before reloading.
Needless to say, I called it Blue Rose Mk.2 and my other backup weapon is a pair of knuckle-knifes similar to the one's Asuma uses in Naruto. The knuckle-knifes are made of the material that Pietro got me they were trapezoid-shaped with a zig-zag pattern on the front of it and with the 4 finger holes needed to hold them on the back. The shape I chose for them allows me to punch and stab with both ends of it, they are called Bright Fang. As I wait for Qrow to show up my thought wander back to combing through my combat data on the black box when I get back, I honestly feel a bit giddy at what I may find on it because some of the weapons I used during my expedition worked better for me than what I initially thought.
Lost in thought I heard my scroll ring and I picked it up to see that it was Qrow calling me. Getting a bad feeling I answered it.
Silva: Qrow, where are you?
I heard my uncle sheepishly chuckle on the other side of the call and he said.
Qrow: Well, funny story, really I was in a bar last night enjoying some good booze when stuff happened and here I am...
Already guessing we're this drunken fool is I said to him.
Silva: Qrow, tell me where are you are right now.
Qrow didn't answer for a few moments then said.
Qrow: In a holding cell at the police station...
I honestly feel like leaving him there but I just sighed and said.
Silva: I'll go bail you out.
It was a quick trip to Atlas and the officers let me through without too much trouble after telling them that a relative is in their holding for their drunken shenanigans. As I entered I saw a face I was not expecting and said.
Silva: Winter!!! What are you doing here!?
This was honestly the last place I was expecting to see her this completely shocked me. Winter looked up at me and just said.
Winter: Just perfect this day can't get any worse then what it already is.
I just looked at her wide eye still not believing that she is in a holding cell in the police station. Winter sighed then cast an angry look towards the cell next to hers and I saw Qrow taking a nap in his cell she then explained.
Winter: In one of the rare few times I entered a bar to try and relax this... This...
Winter just glares at Qrow wanting to tear him to pieces from the looks of it and she continued.
Winter: HE, came up to bother me repeatedly and as I wasn't completely sober lost my temper and a fight broke out.
I honestly feel embarrassed for having any relation with him and facepalmed myself as Winter continued.
Winter: We caused a fair bit of damage before the police showed up to stop us and here I am.
I signed and told her.
Silva: I'll bail you out since I'm here anyway.
Winter looked at me and said.
Winter: You don't have to do that.
I just ignored her and filled out the paperwork for her but not for Qrow because he can stew here for the day for making me feel more embarrassed than both my lives put together. After filling out the paperwork the guard in charge of the holding cells let her out and I walked out with her and she then said.
Winter: Thank you for that and can you not mention that ever to anyone.
I just quirked a smile at Winter's embarrassment and said.
Silva: Mention what?
Winter let out a breath of relief and replied.
Winter: Thank you.
I just shrugged and said in a carefree manner.
Silva: No problem.
We parted ways and I wondered to myself what do for the day since I'm not helping Qrow out for the rest of the day.
