So in the following weeks, Paul began to spend some of the billions of dollars he had to buy all kinds of food they liked and eat. After eating a few pounds of food and seeing the poison in his stomach disappear with everything, Paul knew he didn't have to worry about it anymore.
Paul didn't tell Irina and the Denalis that he could eat human food and taste it. He just ate while he was at the university and sometimes stayed at his rented house near the university that he used as a disguise.
Paul knew Irina and the vampires of the Denali coven would be happy that he could eat human food and still taste it, but they would definitely feel jealous of it, even if it was common envy. If possible, Paul didn't want to show them something they couldn't do to protect them.
Now Paul's human disguise at the university was perfect. He was antisocial, intelligent, had a scar on his face that no one saw, and enjoyed eating. Even the vampires wouldn't suspect that Paul was a vampire if it weren't for seeing that his heart wasn't beating.
When Paul discovered he could eat, much of the unhappiness and boredom he felt disappeared. Besides, just like for the vampire's blood, Paul didn't feel hungry or have a strong desire to eat food. He just ate to be happy because it was delicious.
Soon time passed quickly, and Paul graduated from the university and now had a degree, something he didn't have in his past life. Paul discovered that with the memory of a vampire, he could remember most of what he studied, which would be useful in an immortal life.
As soon as he got his business administration degree, Paul started another course, mechanical engineering. It was an interesting course, and it would surely be useful for him to fix his car in the future if it broke.
Of course, the Mechanical Engineering course wasn't for that, but since Paul didn't need a job in that area, he would have to use it somehow in his daily life.
Certainly, courses in literature or music would be more suitable for Paul, but reading many books and playing instruments were one of the best distractions. It would be useless to do what he did at home in university as well.
Of course, Paul still went out with Irina many times. In 1989, after Paul started the Mechanical Engineering course, he went to the cinema to watch several movies, and one day they went to watch Ghostbusters II. After the movie, they went out to talk.
"I don't know how you can keep going to that university for so many years, we have so many better things to do by staying at home," said Irina.
"If we could do that every day, I would like it, but we would be expelled by your sisters if we tried," Paul said, laughing.
"I find it interesting to always learn something different. We're going to live forever, and if I don't do anything, I think I can go crazy," Paul said.
"We're different in that, I like to stay home all day just looking at the snow. I think it can be different because of the time we lived in when we were turned into vampires," said Irina.
"In my time, we didn't have much to do, only the chores to keep the house clean and get food already used several hours of our day. After doing all these things, we had nothing to do," said Irina.
Paul thought about it and saw that Irina was right. In her time, humans didn't have much to do, so vampires were also less interested in having a hobby. Perhaps a vampire who really lived in the 70s wouldn't be so eager.
But for Paul, who lived from the 2000s until he died in 2023, it was really difficult to spend the whole day without doing anything and without having fun. After all, Paul lived with his cell phone and computer in his hands, always looking for new things to do.
"Fortunately, you still like to go out to the cinema with me or to do some things together," said Paul.
"Sure, this is fun, but to me, it's not much different from just staying at home and chatting. I was curious when cinema and television were invented, but it was only for a few years," Irina said.
Paul looked at Irina and definitely found it strange. For vampires, someone living for 20 years or 1000 years didn't look any different, but in mentality, it definitely was different.
Not all vampires who lived in Irina's time thought the same, but most of them did. Fortunately, they could still have fun together and had some things in common.
Irina certainly imagined what Paul was thinking, but she found it normal that they were different. The few things she liked to do, Paul also liked. Irina enjoyed music, art, reading, and hunting.
And all these things she could do with Paul. It was strange for Irina that someone had so many interests as Paul did. Even the younger vampires were not like that. Of course, most young vampires still chased human blood.
Another year passed while Paul was thinking about Mechanical Engineering courses, and something surprising but highly expected happened. The Cullens arrived at the Denali Coven's house.
Irina had already told Paul that, contrary to their jokes, the Cullens sometimes visited their house when they moved to a new place. Paul thought they would visit the Denali coven when they went to Forks, but it seems they came before.
As cell phones were not yet widely used at that time, Carlisle sent a letter to announce their visit. Paul was interested in them because he knew he might live with them when the movie story began.
When the Cullen family of vampires arrived, Paul saw that they looked like the actors and actresses from the movies, but they were very different because vampires' beauty was much greater than human's.
Paul saw Rosalie and remembered the author's description of her as one of the most beautiful vampires in the world. That meant she was more beautiful than all ordinary women in the world too.
Paul also found it interesting to see Edythe for the first time. She was only slightly less beautiful than Rosalie. Paul remembered a model named Erica Vitulano who was smaller than Rosalie.
Paul also saw Esme, Emmett, Carlisle, Jasper, and Edward, and they all looked like movie actors but were much more beautiful than vampires. Their eyes were natural, and their skin was not so white.
Here's a new chapter I just finished writing.
If this chapter has a lot of comments and power stones, I'll post one tomorrow if I can write it.
Finally, the Cullens arrived in history! You thought they would appear only after the 2000s, but it was already planned.
Now in the next chapters say in the comment, who do you prefer, Irina or Alice? Remembering that in the future Paul will live with the Cullens in the same way
