章 19: Friends
"This is your last day in the city. Did you enjoy it so far? What happened to you and that hottie? Did you...you know!" No pause from Anna who just arrived and rapidly asking queations while pulling her chair and sitting down.
" Nice to see you too Anna." Lexi sips her coffee. Lei is casually eating her cake. "She is staying her for a month. She has potential clients so we will see more of her." Lei takes a bite of her strawberry shortcake. "Wow! This is good!"
"Really? Where are you staying? Do you need a place to stay? I have an extra room. When do you want to move?" Anna is now standing again ready to go to the cashier for her order.
Lexi sighs. "Anna, calm down. I already have a place. One of the clients agreed her flat to be rented at such a cheap price. Besides, I need to be alone to do my job well. So, thanks for the offer but no thanks. About that guy, he sent me to my hotel. Nothing happened." She will surely go to hell with all the lies spouting from her mouth. She can just apologize to her two friends mentally. This is what she gets in sleeping with one of the richest men's secretary.
"As you can see, she is having the time of her life. She even enrolled in a dance class. Look at her attire." Lei point Lexi from head to toe. "She is finally finding time to herself, so again, calm down." She is now drinking her jasmine tea.
Ana just turned her head after pouting and goes to place her order. When Ana placed her cappuccino and triple chocolate cake on the table, she suddenly remembered something. "Guess what?! The Lu Group of Companies just bought Star Entertainment. They have removed contracts of artists that they don't like. Guess who got cut off first?" Her voice is full of excitement.
"Stephen Chou!"
Lexi and Lei almost simultaneously look to Anna' face. "Didn't you know? Jake said that, that night Alexander's employees are in the bar with us. So when they have bought the label where Stephen is working, they have decided that they don't need his drunken attitude." Then hugs herself. "There is still justice in this world."
Lexi looks at the other table where Kay sits, on her phone again. How on earth did they know that Mario was there? He introduces himself as Arnol, which she just later found out that he is Mario Li because of the receptionist. She thinks she needs to tell Mario about this just to do some crowd control. Better to be safe than sorry.
"Hey baby..I'm with Lei and Anna, you remember them? From the bar, they know that employees of Alexander Lu were in Here. Don't know if you need to use your secretary magic but just so you know." She places her phone again in her bag after sending the message. Usually, she places it on the table but since she knows that he hasn't changed Mario's name on her phone, she will not risk it.
As usual, almost instantly, there's a reponse. "Did you just call me baby?" She can't believe this man! She told him that there might be a risk of identity exposure and all he commented is how she calls him?
"I'll take care of it. Don't worry. Just enjoy yourself. I will be in a meeting in a few. See you later baby" another message was received. Alexander smiles and gives his phone to Mario and started to discuss the plan for Star Entertainment dismissing the surprise and curious look of the people in the board room.
After coffee, tea and lunch with her friends, Lexi and Kay went to the nearby grocery and bought some food that she can cook. She will cook something delicious later to lessen the tiredness of the man she is living and will be living within a month.
Alexander smiles while he leans on the wall watching this small woman who is unexpectedly making him work triple time, making him hope that in the future he will go home to the same scene.
Lexi is cooking while she sways to a song. She was stunned when someone pulls her closer in a back hug and slight squeeze her. "Hmmmm... I miss you." Lexi circles and put her arms on his neck, then kisses him lightly. "Tired? Did you make a good amount of money?" then gives him her sweetest smile. "I cooked my favorite dish since I don't know yours."
