章 228: Just Like Old Times

Varya spend the evening with her son and, when it was time for bed, she cuddled up with him and drifted off to sleep. 

When the sun broke over the horizon hours later, Varya was too giddy to stay asleep and she quickly rose with unusual motivation to get ready right away so she could meet Galen. 

Realizing she was going too quickly and she had a short time, she lay next to her son for a little longer and stroked his soft, dark grey hair while he slept, causing him to stir but never wake up. 

She kissed him on the forehead and slipped out of the blankets so she could go get something to eat. 

Soon enough, Solana had arrived and they were chatting in the kitchen, catching up on things without a bunch of men around like usual. 

Solana started getting out things for Basil's breakfast and Varya helped her. She wasn't the best cook but with Solana's lead, she could try to at least help.
