章 403: The Tale of A Promising Student

The powerful beings running the world from behind the scenes — some of who were present at the conference — feared the rise of someone even more powerful than they are. Mavericks like Hope made them feel as though they were walking on eggshells. From what they had heard, Hope was ranked fifth amongst the Voidwalker; this meant that there were four Voidwalkers much more powerful than he was!
If these Voidwalkers, whose powers were said to exceed the imagination of most, were allowed to venture into the real world, a chaotic shake-up of power would be the least of their worries. The released Voidwalkers may very well lead a revolution against them, the ruling class.

KafkaOfTheRubbles Ah, the courage of young men who would call a fair lady out of the window and serenade her with a lute we now called the guitar! Such a classic college/university trope, huh?
...That I did not take part of at all! The only person who had been interested in me enough was the lady staring at me outside of my window in the wee hours while I worked on my assignment. She was overall kinda see-through, but you could still see the intense eyebags under her eyes and that sickly, "F*** THIS WORLD" face that was more indicative of her being dead than the fact that she was hanging in midair, with her lower half of the body missing. Then, as she moved when I moved, I finally realized that I was just staring at the window pane reflection of myself and the whimpering I heard was from that obviously-titled "Creepy Music That Would Make You Stay Up At Night" playlist.
Of course that's the go-to playlist to work at night—the point is to NOT go to sleep so that you may work, right? And also, dude, Akira Yamaoka makes such chilling music, and I know I've repeated Aghast's tracks so many times but it's still so damn good.
