Elizabeth' s POV
If hell really exists, then I lived in it every day after I turned 10.
I will never forget what happened on my 10th birthday.
It was a late afternoon, and I was lying in bed in the pack house, sleeping. I was lost in a beautiful dream that also had relation to my birthday party that was going to be held tonight.
My father was the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack and I was his only and most beloved daughter.
He said he sent birthday invitations to the Alpha family of the Black River Pack. There will be a very large number of werewolves at the birthday party tonight. It' s going to be the biggest and most exciting party of the year.
And I, am the rightful star of the birthday party. I will put on the most gorgeous new dress and accept the blessings and elaborate gifts offered by all.
" BANG!"
The door was kicked open from the outside and a rogue with a scar on his face barged into my room with a knife.
The knife was red, and blood continued to drip from the tip.
I woke up from a beautiful dream, and from then on, my life became a nightmare that I could never wake up from.
"Who are you? GET OUT!" I screamed and curled up my body.
"Oh, there' s a sleeping beauty in here." The rogue surveyed me with an evil gaze, from hair to toe.
"Get the hell out of my room!"
Feeling horrified and disgusted, I couldn' t help but hide inside the bed, yelling, "Lily! Lily! Help me!"
Lily was my maid and a female warrior. My father had arranged for Lily to take care of me, more primarily to protect me.
"Lily, where is she?" The rogue looked around the room and said with a big smile, "Are you looking for her? Is she Lily?"
He lifted his left hand, and Lily' s severed head was being held in his hand.
"Here you are. Your Lily," The rogue smiled viciously and threw Lily' s head onto the bed.
Throwing it in front of me.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh ----" I screamed frantically. lily' s blood stained my pajamas.
I was so scared that I pulled the covers over my cold body. lily' s head rolled off the bed like a ball, leaving a long trail of blood where it passed.
"My little chick, you look scared. come on, let me comfort you."
The rogue came toward me as he pulled down his pants.
I was too young to know what his lecherous smile meant. I was simply afraid of him coming near me. I was afraid of the scars on his face, and I was afraid of the knife dripping blood from his hand.
"Get away! You killed Lily! You' re BAD! You' re an asshat!"
I cried, hitting him with a pillow, but that didn' t stop him from getting close to me.
"My chick, don' t piss me off if you don' t want me to cut off your hands and feet." He threatened me with a low growl and lifted my covers.
I screamed and ran off the bed, only to have him pull me back hard and throw me on the bed.
I didn' t know what he was trying to do. He tore my pajamas into strips of cloth with force. He made me scared.
"You' re so damn cute, little chick. you' re going to be a hottie someday. But I won' t give you a chance to grow up."
"I' ll kill you, after I' ve enjoyed you." The rogue laughed and pressed himself against me.
Just then, I saw my mother rush in with a dagger in her hand.
Her aim was to stab the rogue in the back.
"Mom..." I subconsciously shouted out.
I shouldn' t have made a sound, I should have stayed silent so the rogue wouldn' t notice my mom coming in.
But I was so young, I didn' t know my call would kill my mom.
As soon as the rogue heard my call, he immediately realized there was someone behind him. Without looking back, he grabbed the knife and stabbed it backhanded.
I saw the knife pierce my mom' s chest with my own eyes.
"Mom ------" I let out a harsh cry.
Blood spurted out of my mom' s chest and landed on my face and in my mouth. This was the first time I tasted blood. It was salty. Saltier than tears.
Mom clung to the rogue from behind as she fell, "Elizabeth, run! Run!"
"Drop dead!" The rogue drew his knife and stabbed my mother hard in the abdomen again.
Despite this, Mom held on to the rogue' s arm and didn' t let go at all.
"Mom-----" I couldn' t control the tears that came out of my eyes. I wanted to help her, but mom stopped me.
"My daughter, run! You have to live. Must live."
"Do as you are told, my good girl. Run! Run!"
I jumped out of bed and ran to the door at my mother' s urging. I didn' t dare to leave. I knew that once I left my mom would surely be killed by that rogue.
I might lose her forever!
"Go to hell! Bitch! You think you can stop me by doing that? I' ll kill you first, then your daughter!" The rogue flipped my mom to the ground with force and slapped her across the face.
He tried to turn around and chase me, but my mom suddenly held his leg and wouldn' t let him go.
I saw my mom covered in blood. In my memory, my mom, as the noble Luna of Blue Moon Pack, always wore white and clean dresses, beautiful as a goddess.
However, at this moment, she was covered with blood and mud. Because of me, she became so wretched.
She looked at me with eyes full of tears and grief and urged me loudly in a hoarse voice.
"Run! Run for help!"
Run...Run for help...
"Run...Run for help..."
I repeated the words, crying and running out of the room.
The blinding sunlight shone into my hazy, teary eyes. I was dizzy for a few seconds. When I looked up, I was struck by what was before me.
The screaming, the blood, the killing, the chase... I don' t know what words to describe what I saw.
All I can say is that there were corpses, corpses everywhere. There were corpses lying on the ground.
Those who died were people I knew well. They were all members of the Blue Moon Pack. Each one of them was dressed in beautiful new clothes, which were ready for my birthday party at night.
However, now their clothes were pierced with several holes. A steady stream of blood was pouring out of the holes.
It was the last dress of their lives.
I saw many rogues laughing and killing. They cut off the heads of the men and threw them around. They gathered all the women together and forced them to take off their clothes.
I saw my father and his Beta fighting together. A dozen rogues were surrounding them. Their bodies had been cut with many wounds from the knives.
Seeing all this, I knew that the Blue Moon Pack had been completely overrun by the Rogues.
Suddenly, one of the rogues saw me.
"Look! There' s a girl there!" The rogue pointed at me and shouted.
"Run!" My father noticed me and he yelled.
I rushed to escape.
My mother and father both told me to run.
But I didn' t know where I was going to run, I just knew I should run forward. Run forward...
Run....Run for help...
There were several rogues behind me. They were adults. They were running fast.
The distance between me and them was getting smaller and smaller, and I would soon be caught up with by them.
I feel like my lungs are going to explode. Would I die? Would someone come to save me?
Suddenly, I tripped over a rock in the road. I fell hard to the ground, bruising my palms and cheeks.
Looking at my sand-covered palm full of blood, my heart was full of despair.
Tears blurred my eyes, and I didn' t see two arrows fly past the top of my head.
"Ouch!"
"Ah!"
Two screams came from behind me, followed by the sound of two bodies collapsing.
My eyes widened at the sudden change of events.
I looked up and saw two boys about my age walking toward me. They looked identical and appeared to be twins, each holding a bow and arrow in their hands.
I saw them take out an arrow again, draw their bows, and shoot. A few seconds later, two screams came from behind me once again.
I turned around and saw all the rogues chasing me fall to the ground with arrows sticking out of their necks. They were all dead.
I turned my head again and saw that the two twin boys had already reached me. Their blond hair shone brighter than the sun.
They looked exactly alike, and yet, their characters seemed completely different.
The boy on the left drew his bow and pointed an arrow at me, asking sternly, "Who are you? Why are those rouges chasing you?"
The boy on the right, however, bent down, smiled, held out his hand to me, and said in a gentle voice, " It is all right now. Don' t be afraid."
